    Identification of Kinyongia Species

Thanks for your reply Carl...I do not know if she is WC or not. What I do know is that the pet store owner gets the chams from Germany ... One more question...I have put them in a container with soil at the bottom. I have seen on here that most of the members use vermiculite which I have no...

    Identification of Kinyongia Species

Shocked and Surprised ... Well listen to this...went to clean the bottom of the cage and found 9 eggs  I was so sure that In had a male. Suddenly it all made sense that I found her awake after lights out and was also roaming the bottom of the enclosure. Felt so bad that I had...

New Chameleon - Our routine / Setup

Yeah itr hard to have everything set up perfectly from the start. Best way would be to put the plants standing on an empty plant pot standing face down. You can alro hang them from the top but you need a bar across the top to take the weight as not to tear the mesh

New Chameleon - Our routine / Setup

You have a large enclosure which is great..use it! There is a lot of empty unused space in the top half which can be utilized using live plants and vines. This will also help with humidity and will provide more surfaces for drinking water to stand on.

    Pump strength for rain system

yep Malta is actually 240v ..stuff from China is extremely cheap, they just take a while to arrive..like 2 weeks give and take, I purchased a diaphragm pump and a minute timer for under €20 \ $28 ..

    Kinyongia Addition :)

haha even their eyes are of a different sort ...I think that when looking at them from the front they look like a chameleon clown ...in a good way :) I have heard that the blades as shaped in a way that when water drips on their head it slides down in beneath the blades right onto their...

    Kinyongia Addition :)

Sorry just noticed this reply now ...I use a 40 watt spot light at the moment and lower down to 25w in summer. The wattage is not really the deciding factor, it`s more the temperature gradient achieved so can use a 25W and keep it close or a 40W and keep it further away from basking branch...

    Pump strength for rain system

Excuse my ignorance but would you please tell me what Mag means please ? ...I have found these and was thinking of 210GPH to supply 3 cages ...if the flow rate is too much I would use a regulator

    Pump strength for rain system

Thanks ...do you think that from the flow rate and pressure that you would be able to feed 2 or 3 cages ? Or do I need to up the pressure ?

    Pump strength for rain system

I am planning on making a rain system using water pumped to piping connected in a grid over the cage. The piping would have pin holes for the water to drip all over the cage and create a realistic and natural rain effect. I will not use my misting pump as it will spray the water out and i am not...

    Common Chameleon

Are you keeping him indoors or outdoors? I would give him sometime and as previously suggested, change his feeders. It's good that he is drinking, not eating for a few days is fine..it might actually spark his interest in food again. Force feeding him is going to stress him out. I keep one...

    Using 10.0 UVB Bulbs?

I am a strong believer in replicating natural conditions for a health cham..10.0 is gives out less uvb than direct sunlight so I will definitely not use a 5.0 any more (still have one) ...as long as there is sufficient leaf cover to hide from when they want ...all is good

    Lets talk humidity...

I imagine it the other way around meaning humidity spiking up during the night. I would research the temps and humidity in Yemen. You can't go wrong replicating their natural environment.

    Working with dehydrated cham

I would suggest long misting sessions. If does not make him drink i'd try dripping water on his nose..if that does not work i'd resort to hydrating using a pipette or needle-less syringe. Good luck
