This ia a chart about wild insect food consumption of Chamaeleo dilepis. The order Orthoptera is Grasshooppers and Katydids. I picked this chart up from a post on the Chameleon Forums a while ago.

To start I would only remove the hind legs from the larger species (genus Schistocerca). When/if smaller grasshoppers species start to concern you then remove the smaller grasshoppers back legs. Removing legs is important health concern when feeding your reptiles grasshoppers. However...
I recommend always taking the back legs of Grasshoppers before feeding. When Grashoppers are fed with the legs on can cause multiple problems (chameleon eyes, mouth and internal issues). Especially take the legs off the larger grasshopper species (Schistocerca).

The PacMan Frog my brother bred would croak in the winter when it rained and the barometric pressure droppped.
Chris found a mate after one of those singing days and they did the deed. I was away from the house when this happened I cannot recal when/if they produced babies after mating. I...
I am not recalling that. However Ambanja Furcifer pardalis are my favorite Panthers, then Ankify Furcifer pardalis.
Furcifer pardalis are great though and I could not turn away one if offered.

Your female Calumma parsonii parsonii maybe carrying an infertile clutch of eggs. If that is the case you are going to want to put her in a laying enclosure and be ready to take her to the vet for an oxytocin shot (spelling?!?). That is to prevent egg binding and have her lay the infertile...
Chamaeleo africanus is not an Endangered species. There is the possibility that Chamaeleo africanus could be imported in the future.

She sounds as though she is looking to lay. I would put her in a laying bin/enclosure for a while and watch for laying or a change in behavior to something more normal.
Did you ever watch her mate at all 4-6 months ago?

Maybe contact Bob Cochran.
Bob used to breed Trioceros hoehnelii and lives in central California in the Santa Cruz area. I would look for him on Facebook and make arrangements for a pick up.

When I Can. I would prefer to go to the September Sacramento Reptile Show. However my entire family is recovering with medical issues meaning I may not go to the next show. I am going to keep everyone posted though.

I am always thrilled to go too a Reptile Convention.
I enjoyed myself although this Reptile Convention had an almost total lack of Chameleons. The last Sacramento Reptile Nation Expo had multiple vendors selling Chameleons.

The August,11th 2024 Sacramento Reptile Nation Expo happened a few days ago. This show is a smaller reptile show. However I went to visit and have a look at what was at this local reptile show. There were some great snakes vendors. However there was only one chameleon vendor. Enjoy the...
