So about an hour ago my chameleon did something I never seen it do. It started waving, its arm' well tbh it was more like rotating its left arm like a windmill. Not slow either, he was doing it moderatly fast. I tried searching online for anything about it and nothing popped up. I'll just...
On here https://www.lllreptile.com/articles/177-rudis-chameleons/ I'm surprised to see a rudis caresheet on LLL of all places lol. If you don't plan to handle it much that won't be an issue then. It's just that most people like handling their chameleons, so ai thought it was worth bringing up...
Like Kinyo said they are probably around the same level of difficulty as a jacksons chameleons. The real issue here though is that it isn't exactly a chameleon type most people have, so if you ever run into an issue it's gonna be pretty difficult to get any help.
Another thing to keep in mind...
Does he look dehydrated? If he doesn't than not seeing him drink isn't an issue. Most of the time they'll sneakily drink when you aren't watching. I've only seen my chameleon drink water like 4 times. Also since you said he is eating hornworms chances are they are keeping him hydrated. Hornworms...
Yup! I clean my chameleons cage every 2 weeks and because I clean everything thoroughly my chameleons cage basically gets remodeled each time. Everytime I do that he's basically black for like 4 hours. So them getting dark after a remodel is normal
Mmm I believe most gut loading uses the same stuff with minor changes. Like I use montane cricket crack for my guy instead of normal cricket crack. Also something to keep in mind about bsfl is that if you feed then they will turn into flys faster. The flys aren't nutritiinal at all compared to...
Earlier today I saw a veiled at petco and I for some reason started thinking about the temperature here in washington and the temperture required for veilds. During the winter here temperatures get to like 15 degrees to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. So then I started wondering about how important...
Ah thats a shame! I was hoping that BSF would be similar to their larva in nutrition so that i could use em for calcium in my chameleons diet. Makes sense that it all gets used up tho.
Do you grow your own silks or buy em? I want to use em as a staple eventually in the future and it seems that...
Well for the BSF I was really just caring about them being a good source of calcium. The nutrients are what the BBF are for since those are flies you can gutload. It's been almost a whole month of feeding him gutloaded BBF and BSF now and he hasn't gotten bored. Which is why i brought it up in...
