Bradypodion pumilium - Cape Dwarf Chameleon
Undoubtedly one of the Prettiest Bradypodion in Southern Africa.

They certainly are, it is not the first time i have been to the population and photographed the animals , we collected tissue for the exact purpose. The adults found at Howick are much smaller then Typical animals found in Nottingham road and Mooi River in the Midlands...
For interests sake, I was up IN The Nottingham Locality photographing specmens.
At 20:56pm it was 15 Degree's Celsius by 2am on departure it was 8 Degree's and that is in Summer.
There is some interesting stuff happening in these pictures, below are what is said to be "variations" of Bradypodion thamnobates from the Howick area 30km's away from the terra tyical distribution of the species.

I have never seen the maternal parent feed on the offspring how ever i am not sure if perhaps males may do so.

It is not about looking its about finding ha ha, they are easy to find especially around that time.

NOTTINGHAM ROAD The general area where these chameleons are quite common has had recorded snow fall for many years consistently as well as heavy frost layers in the mornings.
We found a particular adult male in the late evening with a surface tempreture of around 4 degrees Celsius!
It is fairy typical althought the female moved off shortly after.
Exactly! He he although finding all the species in Madagascar would be a little more scenic then these here in Souther Africa.
I had a female drop babies twice in a year but not twice in the same season after giving birth...

You know the funny thing is seeing all these indigenous Bradypodium species available oversea's knowing they have been illegally smuggled out of South Africa because by law you can not keep Bradypodium here nor export.

I have in fact been looking around on this forum for quite some time.
I no longer keep any chameleons i much prefer finding observing and photographing the vast amount of species that Occour in Souther African

I understand but it seems a little pretentious to me i mean, sure you could keep one say Veild Chameleon and sit behind a computer all day and get 6732 pots and suddenly you are experienced keeper who has "rights" to post.
