    The room

I can just picture you with a 10ft tree behind you creeping around a corner, lol! I also tend to "sneak in plants". My day job sends me to Lowes and Home Depot quite frequently and I've found some awesome plants on clearance (and not). To be fair, I also ended up getting those giant cast...

Oh, that's the Sansi "helicopter" LED that you gave it to code for btw. Works great for that spot, thanks! I need more grow lights if I get any more plants though, has been too cold for the outside.

There is ALWAYS room for more plants! I add to my orchid collection every time my wife needs bird toys. Fair trade in my book!

    The room

We just got everything moved in to this house and I have a traditional job during the week (and a wife who keeps buying furniture for me to put together), so it's kind of a cluttered mess. Plus I'm working on the cages still, but that never ends. Here's the mess of my cham room at the moment...

To those who wanted worms and still want worms: Apparently heat packs are not a thing in retail shops in Florida... I guess no one ships to cold places? Anyway, I ordered some heat packs online and so far so good. I'll be testing a few for peak temps and longevity, mostly out of curiosity. That...

    Handling.

There are many ways to "build trust" such as offering feeders, starting with a stick, etc. Here's my experience: My first male and female have always been pretty straightforward. They both learned early that hands = food or outside. My second male and female didn't get the memo. Both would gape...

    Calling all guys

Here's my younger ambilobe Demetri on our massive cat tower: And this is when he escaped the free range [while I watched] into the back yard: He loves the heat! My Nosy Faly Dexter. He's right around a year and growing pretty slow. This shot is terrible but is just too awesome to not use...

    Ladies only

I have a sweet spot for my ladies. Got another one coming in the next few weeks! "Itty bitty" - shes out grown my other panther girls in both size and attitude. She's a viper and will launch and hiss at hands! Delilah is my sweet MBD girl. Loves her trips out to the lanai and knows a feeding...

Why am i so bad when they lay

Sorry for your loss. The fact is, no matter how many opinions you get, they will all be just that... opinions. What works for me, may not work for you. For example, my girls like bigger bins, so I took out their bins and put their "main plant" in a 20"+ pot. It can be the substrate, I use sand...

Yea. I thought about insulting the box but that'll trap too much heat. A few balls of newspaper to fill the voids will go far. Paper towels actually will increase the "insulation" factor a few degrees over newspaper, but block more airflow.

Layer of cardboard, then heat pack on the top is the idea. I'm also using the larger delicups and gutterguard to help them regulate. I actually slathered food into the gutter guard to secure everything. I used a test batch and a box and they seemed pretty secure. Now to track down heat packs in...

My wife already bought me another cham. For Christmas she got me a Williamsi [aka blue day gecko]. It isn't quite ready to ship. I asked her why the hold up and turns out it's due to the other panther she ordered... LOL!

I'm actually about to go out and find heat packs. I have worms going to some cold places! Anyone else want worms while I'm shipping out? Got about 2-300 left of varying sizes to spare!

That too big? Anything smaller I'd not be certain would survive shipping. Otherwise I would suggest hatching your own possibly.

How Do I Know When She’s Egg Bound?

Send me a message... I've got tons of extras. I'm far and away cheaper than retailers... just trying to cover my food cost basically.

How Do I Know When She’s Egg Bound?

I would avoid supers as they tend to become highly addictive and lead to strikes. Silkworms, however, are also high in protein which is more likely what she needs to build her tail. They also contain a fair amount of proper fats. But cham tails are lean muscle and if I'm not mistaken, proteins...

How Do I Know When She’s Egg Bound?

My girl went quite a long time from "receptive" colors to actually laying. I'd say so long as shes active and eating you shouldn't be too concerned. Here is a recent thread with discussion about this topic: https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/going-to-the-vet.172953/ That said, if I were...

I'm just used to high die off... which yours just didn't do. They even did fine, thrived even, when I moved the past week or so. Of course I kept up feeding them and such, but the temps were a good 10 degrees cooler or so seeing as they spent time in the house after I moved my chams. Even now...

I feed them off starting about 1/2 inch or so. My beardie is a freak for them, she'll literally do jumps and flips! My bird however will not eat them... I've found that to grow them quick, put them in small groups with plenty of space and food. That's the mistake I made. I broke them apart too...

    Silkworm Success/Excess

Recently I switched egg suppliers to @snitz427 . I used to get 1,000 or so eggs from Mulberry Farms and I'd end up with about 1-200 mature worms. Well, I did the same with her eggs and now I have probably 800 worms! While it's nice to have great success, I don't need that many moths and the...
