Hi, i personally run zilla's linear tubes with no problems. Every manufacture can have a defective bulb straight from the factory. You are correct though, the bulbs that were causing harm were the ones as you have dated.
I would not hesitate to use it. "IF" any issues arise from any bulb...Key...
What he means Motherlode. Some may perceive, that it is weird to speak to someone like that. Its great he was brutally honest but some may think "why are we talking about cleaning poop?" I dont even know you...
Personally..
1. Do i find what he does in the morning weird? No.
2. Do i...
Reptivite and cal-plus both have a preformed source of vitA. Hats off to the vet to know this. At any rate, i would look for the reptivite that is without D3. Cal plus does make a low D3 also.
He will be fine with a 57* low.
Make sure he is not in direct sun is all i can say. I dont care how much foliage you have. Just make sure his cage is in the shade for the better part of the day.
So, no health guarantee then. Part of owning a reptile is periodically doing fecals and treating. This is just another day in the park. Nothing cheap about owning a chameleon "."
As stated from other members. Flagyl is fine to give. I would suggest treating this animal as the veterinarian...
What did he say about a "Health guarantee"?
Mushy chalky poo. Do you have pictures?
What parasites were found and what medication did they prescribe? What strength/dosing amount/frequency is the regimen.
A culture is not going to do anything here.
Are both eyes shut, tail curled and is he hunkered down on a branch (all day)?
or
Does he still move about the cage and you catch him with one eye shut?
If the chameleon looks healthy, i doubt the breeder would do a fecal before selling. If the chameleon does not look healthy and you bought it. Well that is a bad on both of you.
If he did not state a health warranty at the time of sell and or you did not ask... Chalk it up as a learning...
Haha, if you have owned more than 5 (<--Sounds like a good number) chameleons in your career. The chances are you had at least one impulse buy...Im guilty :D
The picture is not of a calm, relaxed female.
A female should generally be neutral in coloration. Typically a solid pink, peach, nude color.
Gular extension along with the coloration says she doesnt want something around :)
