The chameleon with no name, a journey of love and patience (VERY PIC HEAVY).

Update: As many of you know by now, the cage is finished. I thought I would provide some feedback on the products and talk about the setup a bit. Tha cage (Dragon Strand large clear side atrium) was very easy to put together and I was very impressed with the quality. It is similar in structure...

Yes, that would be the large clear side atrium and drip pan. It is humongous and very much worth the money IMHO. It wasn't hard, but it takes some serious dedication and several glasses of wine to finish. Says so in the manual. Let me know if you have any questions at all and I will be super...

If anyone is curious just how big the Large atrium is, I hope this helps put it into perspective. I am 6'2" and 230lbs. It's big.

    I hate plants

If you have a local nursery, the rubber plants (ficus elastica), sword ferns, asparagus ferns, and hibiscus are all safe too.

    I hate plants

The guzmania bromeliad you have there is safe, the golden pothos is safe, ALL Dracaena are safe, and the peperomia is safe. I don't know about the others. The unknown plant looks like another type of pothos. http://flchams.com/chameleon-safe-plant-list/#t

    feedback on enclosure [video]

Yeah I agree the misting schedule is pretty light. You hadn't posted that when I saw the video. Check out the threads on here by searching "misting schedule". You should be able to find some solid info and make your own determination from reading.

    feedback on enclosure [video]

This is by far one of the best initial enclosures I have seen. It is apparent that you did your research before sticking him in there. Bravo. My only words of advice are: 1. Allow that middle layer of plants to beef up a bit and provide just a bit more cover. So just don't trim anything for a...

BIG NEWS! The large Clearside Atrium and drip tray from Dragon Strand were delivered today. I am at work until tomorrow morning, so nothing can be done today. I will be starting on his enclosure in the morning and making as much progress as is possible over the next three days, as I happen to...

    Holy HUGE, Batman!

My large clear side atrium and drip tray were delivered today. I will be spending all of tomorrow and getting as much done on the setup as is possible. Thankfully, I have the next three days off so I should have a fully operational Deathstar, I mean enclosure, by the weekend. I plan on letting...

    is this ok?

Ahh that makes more sense. I would be extremely hesitant to use any type of water resistant finish though, even when using vinyl over the top. Those chemicals can still seep out and cause issues.

    is this ok?

I would avoid something like this like the plague for various reasons. 1. The wood has been treated with varnish and chemicals and is immediately unsafe for chameleons. 2. Chameleons need a lot of moisture (misting and dripping) and this thing would likely soak up water and be destroyed...

    Any thoughts on this bulge?

No problem. Like I said, I'm no expert. I know that puffy areas like that can either be fat or air, but I can't properly assess without gently poking a finger into the area myself. I was simply reminded of that thread, and that other Cham presented very similarly. I'm not experienced enough...

    Any thoughts on this bulge?

There was another person that posted about swelling in the same exact areas on his veiled Cham that I see are puffy here, the head behind the eye, the neck, and the sides of his Casque (head pompadour/crest). That person took their Cham to the vet, and it turned out to be AIR, secondary to what...
