my chameleon is a male and he is about seven months old.
for the past few weeks, he has had severely sunken eyes and it has been worrying me.
i do not see him drink but his mister runs 3 times a day and i also provide a dripper.
his urates are always white and poops are well shaped and...
this looks like a respiratory infection to me. chameleons lift their nose up to try and make it easier to breathe when this occurs. the stuff you see around the nose is also a sign of this infection.
since the infection seems to be in its advanced stages, i would suggest getting your little guy...
i am happy to say that my cham is starting to make a recovery! he hung in there and got antibiotics just yesterday for a potential URI.
his appetite is increasing and he has shown no signs of lethargy.
i am being careful to get humidity levels up a bit more while also creating a "false fever"...
yes, he has been seeming really stressed lately, probably because i think he is feeling internal stress. but before, two weeks ago, he would eat 90% of bugs off of my hand.
i will submit a husbandry description tomorrow after i find out what exactly is wrong with my guy, so i will know what...
moving forward, is there anything i can do to prevent a LRI? i hate to think that my husbandry caused him to become sick, and i never want to make this mistake in the future
i scheduled him an appointment for tomorrow morning - but i honestly do not think he will make it. he is showing the advanced signs of an respiratory infection, gasping for air while making squeaking sounds. i feel so bad for my boy but i am willing to do anything that i can for him.
i am also...
i have not made any drastic changes to his enclosure. i replaced one branch about three weeks ago, and i occasionally clean. i got him one month and a half ago. for the first three weeks, he was eating fine. personally, i do not think there is anything wrong with his setup since i have kept...
at first, my baby would down 16 bugs easily everyday. he was so healthy and growing incredibly fast. then all of a sudden, his appetite decreased by a lot. i thought that it may be a hunger strike after the superworms i fed him, but i began to realize that it wasn't the case after days went by...
i have emailed this vet before about these problems, she agreed that he was underweight but never mentioned anything about making an appointment. would you recommend that i wait until the fecal results first before bringing him in?
i bought a mail-in one from rainbow mealworms, so the results might take awhile. im worried for my boy though, it could be too late by the time that i actually do get the results.
the vet said that he looked underweight, and i feel so bad for my boy. i got him from petco. my guess is that he has always had a load, but they increased which in return gave him these side effects. he is four months old and should be eating way more in order to grow! what do you recommend...
his appetite is decreasing more and more. at first i thought it was lack of variety, but i have introduced more variety and i still see no more changes. ive tried everything for him to get to eat more. feeder runs, controlled release, hand feeding.. yet he still only eats three bugs a day. he...
