Thanks for the info. The fake plants are just in there until the pothos gets a little bigger, since I just got it not that long ago, so I will take them out soon. As for misting. I have a one minute session shortly after lights turn on. Additionally, I have 5 other sessions spread throughout the...
Why should the substrate be taken out? I use it to hold humidity since I live up north. The plants are a pothos and dracaena marginata, which are both safe for Chams. Not saying you are wrong just curious as to what’s wrong with these things. Thanks for the reply.
Hello, I’ve had a male veiled chameleon since December. I bought him a very trustworthy local pet store and he was about six months old. He is very healthy and lives in a spacious, 24x24x48 Zen habitats PVC/ screen combo. He has multiple live plants, proper uv and heating, A mainly cricket diet...
I like to have less, but bigger plants. My 2x2x4 right now just has a pothos and a big dracaena, along with some fake plants and other stuff just for looks.
You’ll get through it. Start thinking about how these things could’ve happened and how you could prevent them. Ask the forum for advice and change your setup. Buy a HEALTHY chameleon and continue giving it the life it deserves.
I meant that they were irrelevant to the current topic at hand. I will look into a bigger tank after the current problem is solved for I do not want to cause stress right now fo her. I know that it is not gout I just don’t know what else to call it.;)
She has only eaten part of a leaf, not a salad. One of the reasons pothos is suggested is if she does eat it, it will not harm her. The lump is an abscess that has been treated by antibiotics and is no longer a living infection. The lump is just there and causes no harm at the moment. What I...
You are no vet, I have no reason to trust what you say. It is a FORUM. Just because what you are recommending to me is in YOUR setup, doesn’t mean that it is the best thing to do. The only reason that my chameleon has a low variation of food is because she doesn’t LIKE other foods. She likes wax...
I see what you are saying but it is always a nice backup for those cold nights. Because see? You are looking and asking for heaters and stuff, with glass, that is less of a concern
I have taken her to the vet once to get an abscess taken care of. She has plenty of places to cool down like under that huge pothos. The bulb is compact but the dome reflects the UV into the cage like it is SUPPOSED to. When I say that my chameleon is small, I mean VERY small.
