It’s a better footprint 3 feet across, plenty of room. I free range often as well.
I cup feed so substrate is no issue. Bare boring setups don’t simulate the wild. Did the standard screen cages for years. Not disputing what works for others just wanted a challenge and living vivarium art piece.
Not true with these, air flows through vents around the bottom. Warm air rises and pulls fresh air in. I have had many screen cages and find glass to be more advantageous. Including they are much better to look at as I find screen cages to be an eye sore. This one is in my kitchen.

I like the all glass exoterra option for unobstructed viewing. Mine is a self contained ecosystem and keeps the warmth and humidity in the dry Colorado climate. Also prevent them from climbing the sides.
Yes, you need a heat light, and uvb source which would be your 5.0 tube reptisun that expands the length of your enclosure. The two bulbs you displayed would be ok for plants but not beneficial for your veiled. Hope this helps!
I am getting a 7mo male next week! I was wondering should I use repashy lod or calcium plus? I want to get the led reptibreeze but it only comes in med or large. What size should I get?
Thank you!!
Switch to dubia roaches, they are much easier to keep and very low maintenance. I would never go back to crickets! They die off like crazy, smell horrible, loud etc etc....
I don't believe there is a cut, it seems to be only on the surface. Some of the body color does work its way into the black tail portion. I have seen other threads on this in the past, and was wondering if anyone saw improvement? It has been there since I received him a few weeks ago.
