Tough love always prevails. All my Panthers lose interest in their staples whether its crickets or dubias or bsf after some time. I used to switch it up to another feeder fearing they will starve to death. Then I got tired of dealing with crickets so now it's just dubias or bsf. One thing I...
Has anyone ever tried feeding BSFL to one group of hatchlings and with another group of hatchlings with the traditional fruit flies/crickets method?
There seems to be considerable advantages to BSFL when comparing BSFL to other feeders especially the calcium to phosphorus ratios. I would love to...
how many times has he shed since you've had it? not sure if its the quality of the photo but another possibility is it looks like it may be getting ready to shed. If these pics are post shed, then Matt's suggestion is the most likely scenario. If you've had it for a few weeks and it has not...

I got my 1000 crickets from critter depot yesterday.
Got shipped from PA to WA in the 2 day USPS Priority Post.
I'll post the pics and you make your own assessment.
You can see for yourself the amount of potatoes that were put into the box in the 2nd picture.
The box has a grate (pink) for...
Makes perfect sense and great information.
Is anyone aware of a things we can do (environment factors) to discourage the formation and laying of infertile eggs?
My female is only about 8 months old now and she is acting like she is gravid again on her second clutch of infertile eggs. She laid...
I reached out to a poultry veterinarian acquaintance inquiring about this. She said the energy and nutrient deprivation from a female hen developing an egg is exactly the same between a fertile and infertile egg. The only difference between the two is the mating process which may be more...

so far the best deal I've come across is Critter Depot where they sell 1000 crickets of any size for $20 shipped. That's only 2 cents per cricket which is insane price.
I just ordered from them on Tuesday and they got shipped out on Wednesday. It was shipped via USPS from Pennsylvania and I'm...
OK just ordered $20 of 3/4" crickets from critter depot. They are shipping by fedex. Lets see how well they ship from the east coast to the pacific northwest. I'll update with pics when I get them.
What usps service are you getting the supplier to ship with? I recommend priority which is 2 to 3 business days.
If that's what's already done then call your supplier and ask them if they are willing to ship via another method.
That lay bin is labelled at 4.5 inches high. Pls use one that is at least 12 inches high. Substrate should be moistened enough so it will hold shape when burrowed. It appears your substrate is quite dry but that's only based on what I can see in the picture.
I just wanted to post that I blanched a whole garbage bag of mulberry leaves (no it was not fun) as per the directions in this article. I froze the leaves and I am starting to use them to feed to my silkworms and BINGO they are eating them with vigor. I used to freeze mulberry leaves without...
