With veiled chameleons, can there be spurless males?

I dont see any signs that would indicate that is a male. Im curious as to why the vet would tell you this.

    BEE!

Where in my quote do you see me saying it is not OK? I said the opposite that it is OK and that i personally dont go out of my way to feed wasps or bees. If one happens to get in the outdoor enclosures (which they very often do) they are snacks. I also keep smaller species like Bradypodion where...

    probably losing my dog today

I just went through a very similar experience with my old pup Loo. She began to shake and tremor and was in noticable pain after exercise and laying down looked difficult for her. I brought her into the vet and they came to the conclusion that she had severe hip displasia. I was confused how it...

Buying a Solarmeter, which model should I get?

Completely correct, the R just stands reptile as in more attractive for reptile keepers, black casing, lizard graphic, ferguson chart. Internals are identical in the 2 devices. The 6.5 is Sub $200 on canadian amazon right now for me while the R is $240 plus. The 6.5 is a steal of a price right now.

    Should I put a fan??

What humidity levels are you getting? And you’re also speaking about 3 different species which have 3 different humidity and heat requirements. Panther and veileds are very similar, Jackson’s require more humidity less heat etc.

    Should I put a fan??

If the front is open screen as well as the top I think you should be fine without using a fan. I use a small 40mm fan or 2 on glass exo terras. In your situation I don’t think it is needed. Do your cages dry out in between Mistings ?

    Strawberry Ensure shakes?

Getting a second opinion is always a good idea. Personally i have never heard of this and Ensure is packed full of vitmains and minerals in a ratio that is healthy for humans not chameleons. Blended insects sounds far more natural and safe IMO.

    Strawberry Ensure shakes?

Did some research and i found this from 2012. https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/help-our-veiled-cham-has-no-tounge.92135/post-860733. @jannb I noticed you were also active in this thread. Have you ever heard of this before ?

    Strawberry Ensure shakes?

I have heard of blended up insect shakes for ill chameleons but never Ensure shakes. Is this a reputable reptile vet ? Unless i have totally missed the chameleon Ensure shake tactic, this is terrible advice and i would advise you find a new vet. Did he do any blood work or have you bring in a...

Any Idea what may have happened ? Front Paw

I am not a vet nor have i ever dealt with almost severed toes, there for i have no helpful information on that. There appears to be broken bones in the toes and you are at risk of infection and necrosis if thats the case.

Any Idea what may have happened ? Front Paw

Was it kept in a glass exo terra ? Almost looks like it got crushed in one of the hinging doors. I would strongly suggest bringing it to the vet.

    Sexing a Panther

Any breeder who sells hatchlings Would sound a bit suspicious. My thought was if he’s going to sell a hatchling to you he’s going to sell hatchlings to anyone - At least one would be going to a forum member who has help and knowledge at there finger tips. Better decision to wait and get ones...

    Sexing a Panther

To answer your question, you want to look for a hemipenal bulge. Try to select one with a fatter base of the tail. It may be hard to spot on a hatchling but compare afew and select one with the widest tail base.

    What does this color mean?

I dont think calling what some female Veileds have on there feet a "pronounced tarsal spur" is an accurate way to desribe it. I would say males have a pronounced tarsal spur, females may have a flap or fold of skin in the same spot which may partially resemble a tarsal spur would be a more...
