Got it. I've been giving him calcium every day and vitamin with D3 once a week.. But will reduce it to every 2 weeks then. Thank you so much <3 now I can go to sleep at peace
Good to know, and thank you for the reassurance :) Since we are at it.. I am a bit confused with the feeding: so now I feed him 15-20 dusted crickets daily, because I read that they should eat as much as they want when they are young and he seems to have good appetite. When exactly should I...
Ok, thank you! I turn his lights off around 10 so I guess if he eats at 3-4 pm it's ok? Jesus. I'm so stupid - it took me half a day to find those crickets because all the shops in my area ran out of them... Bought an extra big batch too :D Oh well...
Hi all,
so it's 3 a.m. and I just realized 2 things: 1 - I became addicted to posting on this forum every time I feel uncertain, and 2 - I am extremely paranoid and have great talent in imagining all kinds of horrible outcomes.
So, this just happened: I was transporting crickets from the small...
I already have 10 houseplants plus the ones in the chameleon's enclosure, and would enjoy the plants more out in the open than behind glass... So what about spiders then? :) Would a tarantula be happy in such enclosure? Or maybe some cool insect, like a praying mantis?
My veiled boy Leonard quickly outgrew his "baby" terrarium and now has a proper-sized enclosure. Now i am left with a 45x45 cm Exo Terra terrarium and wondering whether to give it away or get another animal for it. My boyfriend wants a spider but I am not a big fan, and would prefer a reptile...
Thanks everyone! I сut some fresh syringa branches, they don't seem to have any bugs but there is some green moss-like stuff on the bark, so I guess I'll clean it anyway. My guy already had some bark-free branches and doesn't seem to have trouble climbing on them :)
Thanks! I was researching whether to keep basking light in summer (it gets up to about 30 C where I live now), but kept getting conflicting information. I've replaced the heat bulb with a regular house bulb too for now, and will use the heat one in winter when it gets cold. Also my Cham is still...
I cut branches that looked less leafy because I didn't want to hurt the tree too much, but some have very obvious bug infestation (holes etc). Should I go for the nice fresh branches instead?
@Tygerr hi, so I got a UVB tube (10.0), they recommended it in the store as veileds live in more deserted areas than other chameleons, and they also gave me this Sun Glo tube which imitates natural sunlight, as I have many plants in the enclosure and would like them to grow well. It also looks...
Hi all, so I found some great looking branches in the park which I want I put in my vieled's enclosure. At the moment he only has some plants and sticks from the reptile expo in there, which are not long enough to provide for his comfortable movement around the enclosure. When I started cutting...
I have just discovered this cool plant (full name pilea peperomioides), and thought it would look great in my vieled's enclosure. I haven't found any info whether it's safe for chameleons or not (maybe just didn't look well enough). Does anyone have experience with it?
That's a great idea, thank you! I will either get one of those adjustable ones or put a hook in the wall to hang the lamp on so its a bit higher. How strong should the UVB be for an adult sized enclosure? These are the lamps I'm currently using. Is that good enough?
Thank you all! My cham is about 4-5 months now and I want to move him to an adult enclosure soon because his current terrarium is too small. Guess I'll look for someone who can do screen then. I really don't understand why so many people I found so far only stick to certain material and refuse...
@broderp @leedragon
Could you please please have a look at this thread I posted and tell me if this material is ok to use instead of screen? I would greatly appreciate it <3
