Which reptile to get for a 45x45 cm terrarium?

My veiled boy Leonard quickly outgrew his "baby" terrarium and now has a proper-sized enclosure. Now i am left with a 45x45 cm Exo Terra terrarium and wondering whether to give it away or get another animal for it. My boyfriend wants a spider but I am not a big fan, and would prefer a reptile. Is there any animal I could get for such a small enclosure (preferably a low-maintainance one)?

You might be able to get a crested gecko depending on how tall the enclosure is.

Pretty small for much of anything really. You want to give something enough space for a good quality of life. Small tree frogs possibly, but they are not really low maintenance. What about some nice looking terrarium plants?

I already have 10 houseplants plus the ones in the chameleon's enclosure, and would enjoy the plants more out in the open than behind glass... So what about spiders then? Would a tarantula be happy in such enclosure? Or maybe some cool insect, like a praying mantis?
