    R/O vs Distilled

I agree with you. I used distilled water when I first got into chameleons, then I read an article on how quickly chlorine dissipates when exposed to oxygen, especially when the water is turned into a fine mist as my MistKing does. Someone with well water or someone in a city that is known to...

    Dusting

I think he is fine with the two dusted crickets. My panther usually only eats two in a sitting so that is all he would get. Over supplementation can lead to liver and kidney problems. Your schedule is the same one I use and I also use the Herptivite. Your boy is a cutie!

    Leopard Gecko Advice

Generally the fear on impaction from sand is for baby and juvi leopard geckos, I had adults do great on sand. Take a look at natural planted enclosures though. There are some awesome vivs online using soil and natural plants- the thought is that it mimics their natural habitat and allows the...

Any way to tell or remove parasites without vet?

Personally, I do fecal exams every 6 months. If you don't want to do that, symptoms include lethargy and not eating. The only problem with waiting until the symptoms show is that the fecal load may be so bad that the treatment could endanger the animal's health. Anti parasitic drugs are hard...

Any way to tell or remove parasites without vet?

Some people will tell you that Reptaid will kill parasites. For me, I think the vet angle is the best. I had one get coccidia and he would not be alive today if I had not gotten the right medicine. My vet will do a fecal for $20, the medicine usually costs me $12-$20.

Would this be a good adult enclosure?

I agree, that is very cool. When you are finished, build me one- I'll buy the beer... Substrate is one of those constantly argues points; I don't have any just because I like to give the bottom a wipe daily but if I had Jax like brownie64 I would have it. Either way you can have healthy...

    drinking habits?

I have one who is definitely a picky drinker. The shower method didn't work either, so I ended up basically bottle feeding him his H20. Take a clean syringe (you can get them at the drug store in the baby medicine section), fill with water and slowly drip it on his nose. Mine will start...

    Gravid?

If she is trolling around the bottom of the cage and scoping out the potted plants she may very well have eggs. I would definitely have a lay bin in your enclosure. You can use a bathroom sized trash can, a bucket or large plastic pot. Just make sure she has 12' to dig. Also, make sure there...

    Clarence the Chubster

What a cute little guy! I really miss the tree frogs we used to get in Florida, I would have 5 on the glass door at any given time.

    Frankenstein Free Range

I am lucky enough to have a dedicated cham room because there is no way I'd be allowed to put this anywhere else. It started as a fake ficus which I added parrot ladders, fake vines, dowels, branches from the yard, you name it! At this point it reaches all the way up to the 9' ceiling and is...

    New Russian Tort!

This is my new, as yet unnamed male Russian tortoise. I have wanted one for years but he was somewhat of an impulse buy. He was in a tiny enclosure at Petsmart clawing at the glass. He'll now live in a 3' x 5' tortoise table. That is until I talk my husband into adding a turtle run into our...
