Supplements are in the chameleon info. The 12% was something recommended on this forum (found in another thread when I was first setting up the setup). Oh no, I didn't realize this was too high. Although for the past 3 months it has most likely been a weaker bulb, as i didn't realize how often...
Right before I took him to the vet, he ate crickets and a few waxworms. I usually don't feed him either, but my roaches were back-ordered so I had to get what they had at the pet store. I'm fairly certain it was related.
The vet saw him a few weeks ago and essentially said he was perfectly healthy. She did help him poop, since I told her I was worried he was constipated, but she wouldn't have even done that if I hadn't had brought it up. Not keen on another $200 bill for nothing, when he clearly has something...
Yes, of course I stopped as soon as I found out it was dangerous; I said I would.
Yes, the elbow was like that when I took him to the vet, and she said nothing, she said he was healthy all around, which is why I don't want to bring him back there.
When you say it could be calcium, do you mean...
Please see THIS POST for my FULL CHAMELEON AND HUSBANDRY INFO (doesn't fit in one posting)
I posted several weeks ago because my chameleon was laying on the bottom of his cage. I believe he was constipated and tried feeding him some pears (I read giving them oil is actually dangerous?), gave...
Thank you! Yes I also use a dripper, the time I spray in his mouth is if I am already spraying him and he opens it (territorially), but I'll stop doing that.
The sun shines on the cage for about 2 hours then passes overhead. Since I work in the same spot, sometimes I close the blinds before...
I'm not sure how to edit my original post anymore, but UPDATE:
I was able to get him to a vet today! She said he looks prefectly healthy all around but did seem a bit full. She was able to get some poop coming and didn't see any parasites or eggs or anything wrong with it under a microscope. I...
I had this problem once, they actually got RIDICULOUSLY large because something was set in front of them and I forgot they were there. I let them go and the birds seemed to snatch them up right away.
I have that same question though; maybe I shouldn't have done that. The alternative is killing...

Yeah I'm the one who resurrected the thread (didn't realize it would ping everyone... haha) and I never use crickets anymore, for all of the reasons we all know. Roaches are backordered from my usual sources so I had to get crickets at the store this time. Blowing my mind how they're escaping no...
Did you ever figure this out?? I never use crickets anymore because they die quickly and smell. Well, today it was the only option at the pet store. I got pretty big ones. No way they can get out of my cham's cage. It is mostly glass. Screen at the top, but the crickets can't get up there...
Time to upgrade to a mansion! My chameleon (10mo. male) currently lives in a glass terrarium with a metal screen top where the lamps sit, and I have two fans on top which circulate air in the terrarium. I have a misting system set up and Live plants growing from the base. I plan to keep the base...
