I baked mine at 350* for 30min. That should be good for pieces up to 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Before baking them I cleaned them with a diluted bleach (1:10) and a brush, and rinsed very well.
The bump in the eye might be from retained shed, that a vet would remove, or from Vit A deficiency that could explain the change in behavior. What is your current vitamin supplement schedule?
Maybe someone with more experience with panthers can chime in.
Where in Ky are you? (I am in Louisville)
It is important to know how far the bulb will be from your basking spot, if it will go through screen before reaching the cham, if you have hiding spots, how tall is your enclosure, how often you take them to the sun...I don't think you can make a blanket statement -as with most things.
This is my baby girl. Sweet as can be. My boy has an attitude problem but this girl is always ready for daddy. -maybe she hasnt figured out that I am going to feed her anyway

My 4 year old (mostly human) boy gave us this card for Valentines with his drawing of the family.
Mom, Dad, 3 kids and 2 chameleons!
I am so happy to see that my kids consider the chams part of the family -insert proud dad smile here-
4L? That is a huge beaker! There are several threads on feeder cups. One of the very easy and cheap is the "sunny D orange juice" cup. Serach for it and there will be plenty of pictures and tutorials.
One ore thing is that if you use a clear cup they will fire from underneath, wont get anything...
The crickets will move around, climb and the cham will find them, no problem. Dubias are a little more tricky because they can hide in a dark place and stay immobile for hours.
