I wasnt entirely sure what B Grade meant until reading all the comments, but I figured it had something to do with the quality of the cage and all. I've bought from DIY cages before, still have it for my older cham, it seems nice and at a reasonable price so thats probably what will end up...
Lol I noticed that it says "Screen cage not included" too... don't know what the deal with that is.
I also see two different prices.... I see 59.99 for the cage and is that 45.00 for shipping? Yikes.. nice cage though but its way out of budget.
I need a new cage for my little buddy Pastal, my (9m old?) panther cham. Hes outgrowing the handmade cage.
I stumbled on this on eBay without even really trying to look, the pricing is extremely low (only $50 shipped!) and it looks decent...
Thanks all for the input! Ill definitely put it all into consideration.
As far as my chameleons personalities, Specs, my 1+ year, is pretty laid back. Ive let strangers handle him before with ease and this is actually his second presentation, so im not worried about him. Pastal, my 8ish month...
Hi all, I had planned on bringing my two chams (panthers, one a little over a year and the other around 8 months) to my high school for a presentation. Im going to be bringing them around to a few classes and telling people about chams and how to care for them and what their habitat is like...
5-6 crickets every 2-3 days? Woah, I didn't know that would be okay! Alright, I'll definitely try that. I always thought that starving him for a day was a bad thing, and I felt horrible if I missed a day. I guess I was used to his baby/juvenile growing diet of around 12 a day. Im starting to...
I almost forgot to do this!
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Ambilobe Panther, male, 1.3 years old, had him for around 1 year and a month
Handling - Not too often. Only if I see him on the bottom of his cage or to soak him for his skin.
Feeding -Staple crickets. I've put him on a diet of around...
Hello all. I've had Specs, my ambilobe panther for about a year and a half (and he is about that old, take two to three months.) He has been having regular sheds throughout his life until maybe 3 to 4 months ago. It seems like he is stuck in the shedding process. There is flaking skin on his...
Hi, my new cage that I ordered from LLLreptile just came in today and I'm really happy with it. :) It looks awesome with the plants and vines inside.
Only, I noticed that there are no drip trays for a cage this size on LLLreptile. I came to you guys to ask for any alternatives. I need...
Haha, we're in the same boat here. My mom sometimes has to care for my cham while I'm at school. I'm just glad it's summer so that I can do it all myself. :)
She knows little about cham care and the internet, so everything she knows, I had to teach her. She sometimes thinks she knows more than...
Haha, thanks. ;) That's my 4 month old ambilobe, Specs. I just about died when I saw how that picture came out.
@Sandra: Oh, really? Well that's pretty lucky, you get them free and you get to hand pick them. That's $4.99 out of my pocket, but hey, it could be worse. :P They charge so much more...
Hmm, bird ladders sound pretty cham-handy to me. :)
I actually just went out today and got two more perches, one that splits into three sections and one thats just a straight out stick which would make good for basking. Im slowly starting to replace the wobbly branches with these. Whats better...
Thanks, Sandra. :)
I was already using some of the things out of your guide. I'd just thought I'd try something new, though. One of the reasons being because a lot of the ingredients that I had in my homemade mix was left in the freezer for quite a while and was freezer burnt, and the...
The rough bird perches wont hurt their feet? I use a mixture of a bird perch, a bendable vine, and collected and cleaned outside branches. :) I always have trouble keeping the branches mounted and sturdy, though. They tend to wobble and be unstable.
Id say he's okay if it was only 8 inches, although it probably depends on how he lands. My cham has fallen quite a lot because of his condition and at from different heights. :( But after his trip to the vet, there were no fractures to report. :)
If he appears fine for the net few days then...
That seems like a strange place for a burn to me. :P Burns on chams are usually a grayish anyway, if I'm right. And they usually appear on the spine and knees/joints I think.
That looks like it may just be a small normal cut. He may have gotten it from a sharp edge somewhere in the cage, so you may want to look around and fix whatever it may be because it can happen again.
I've heard before that you can put Neosporin on cuts for chameleons and its safe, so try...
Is this a good idea? I honestly don't see why not. I've always thought that bird perches made great branches for my cham Specs, especially if they're made to look like actual branches. Specs has one in his cage now, just one, and its his favorite perch. They're smooth, very sturdy since they...
I recently decided to order some Bug Burger just to try it out for the first time. Previously I was just using my own homemade gutload for my crickets, but I want to be assured that Specs is getting everything he needs. The order I placed should be coming in sometime today.
So, what else...
