i got him out for his daily sunlight hours but this time he saw a fly and got into a frenzy mode and fell from my hand,i guess he fell from 8 inches on his left side!i checked him but he looks ok,he ate after this!im scared to even think he broke .aa rib or smth worse!what to do next?what are the signs if he broke a rib?

Id say he's okay if it was only 8 inches, although it probably depends on how he lands. My cham has fallen quite a lot because of his condition and at from different heights. :( But after his trip to the vet, there were no fractures to report. :)

If he appears fine for the net few days then he probably is. If you have the money to spend on precautions though, vet checkups never hurt.

ill keep watching him,if i see some bad signs, low appetite ,dehydrated or anything else ill do a x ray, damn this sucks

Relax, its ok.

Mine have all fallen from significatnyl higher places than that and are all fine.

Just watch him. :D

Moniter him for any signs of internal injuries or any broken bones (which they hide very well, in there legs espcecially.)
He should be fine though, as Mantis said. Considering he ate to right after means he must not be in any real pain or discomfort. My jackson who is still a youngster likes to jump off his 3 foot ficus into the grass. It gave me a heart attack the first time i saw it. I've since prevented him from doing this though.

update:he ate as usual, drank more than usual, walked fine,no bad sings till now,he sleeps as we speak

I'm glad he seems to be fine.

Unless he has other health issues or landed really badly, he will probably be great. They fall from trees in the wild as self-defense and that is alot farther than 8 inches...

Just watch for falling more often and for him being able to get food and water and moving around as usual for the week. Mine hid a broken leg for 3 days before he finally started favoring it and then wouldn't hunt like he was used to and didn't move into the drips for drinking.

Good luck and I hope your worries are for nothing!

And remember, Chams have cartilage ribs that help with shock absorption when they fall...........looks like he'll be fine :)
