Okay, I guess he just needs a few weeks to get adjusted. Should I start cup feeding right away, or wait a few weeks until hes more comfortable in his new environment?
I also had this same concern with his drinking habits, too. Ive never seen him go after dripping or misted water. However.. I...
Okay, thanks a bunch. :) I think im definitely going to give cup feeding a try. It will make me feel a lot better knowing that hes eating what he needs.
Im looking at all these videos of feeding though (not just the ones posted, but others as well) and I notice that Specs isnt NEARLY as...
Im interested in cup feeding.
How exactly does it work? And how the heck do you manage to keep the crickets in the cup? I cant even touch one without it jumping off like crazy, and I dont understand how people on here can hand feed without the cricket jumping out of your hand in two seconds.
He is eating more now. :)
Im still a little worried though. Ive only actually seen him eat just a few. Im not sure how much hes eating while im not there, though, so I dont know if hes getting his full intake. The same goes for him drinking.
I often still see a few crickets in his cage at the...
Okay, I'll try that. :)
I'm a little bit worried about the size of the crickets I got, though. I don't know if they're too big for him. Exactly how big is too big?
Thanks everyone! :D
I still would like to know some tips on how to get a new cham to start eating, though. Should I just put a few crickets in his cage and leave them there for a while?
Ive been waiting for this moment for MONTHS! Im so happy and excited to looking forward to a long while of cham-keeping. This is my first ever chameleon, a blue bar ambilobe panther. His name is Specs!. :D
He seems healthy to me and lively. I've misted him and he enjoyed it. I haven't seen...
Oh, its that cheap? I might just go ahead and get it anyway then just for the heck of it, and for any future plants I might need. :)
Talk about dirt-cheap! Har.. I tried to make a funny.
Oh, also, is repotting the plant with organic soil absolutely necessary if its going to be covered with rocks anyway? I don't have any organic soil, and I'd hate to go out and buy a huge bag for just one tiny little pothos. :/
Okay. Will definitely put some rocks in. :)
The cage in the picture is only 18x12x12 (LxWxH). Like I said, only temporary since hes going to be small. He is actually going to have three cages, because the one that was supposed to be his permanent one came out too small. (boyfriend didnt...
My approx 3 month old male ambilobe will be arriving next week, this is the setup I have for it currently. I have a much larger enclosure for it for when it gets bigger, this one is much smaller and its just temporary for it to grow into.
It will be my first cham so tell me if im doing anything...
Im hearing debates on if the Zilla lights are good are bad. This is the one I have:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=18453
Is this one okay? I made sure to get tropical and not desert, and Zilla is the only UVB lights my local Petco has. Its brand new and has only...
Oh, really? >_< I guess I didn't do enough research. I didnt see anything about them being poisonous when I looked them up, but oh well. Thank you very much.
I checked safe plant lists and I didn't see it there, but I looked it up and theres nothing that says its toxic either.
The plant (Arrowhead plant or Syngonium podophyllum)

My teacher gave me a few roots from her plant, I thought it...
