I find that if you get a Cham from a good breeder they usually have no problem taking the same size/type of the feeder the breeder fed them (in most cases it's 1/4" crickets).
Ask the breeder what they fed them... They should have no problem giving you this info.
Moving foward, just try to toss a few different options for them, to get them off the idea that "alll there is in this world to eat are Crickets". lol
He looks good and healthy, i don't think you'll have an issue getting him to eat.

He is eating more now.
Im still a little worried though. Ive only actually seen him eat just a few. Im not sure how much hes eating while im not there, though, so I dont know if hes getting his full intake. The same goes for him drinking.
I often still see a few crickets in his cage at the end of the day. I put about 10 or so and he doesnt eat them all or just doesnt find them, or worse, they escape. I just got him smaller crickets today and im also trying some waxworms to see if he goes after them.
Is there any way to get him more used to it, or do I just have to wait?

I also just got mine a few days ago and what I do is put a cup, in a high position near where his favorite spots are, and hot glued black plastic to the bottom(so cricks are easier to spot. And he picked up on it very quick. I have read things against cup feeding when they're young but it makes me feel better knowing I can know how much he is/isn't eating.

Im interested in cup feeding.
How exactly does it work? And how the heck do you manage to keep the crickets in the cup? I cant even touch one without it jumping off like crazy, and I dont understand how people on here can hand feed without the cricket jumping out of your hand in two seconds.

What i do is i put the crickets in a cup with a lid and bang them around a bit to stun them (lil harsh, i know)

As far as cup feeding . I do like Kush said. I place the cup near where he frequents and he just picks them off (some do jump out, but it beats having them alll loose).
It took some time with this lil guy, But he literally jumps into the cup then i open the cage now. I do still free-range some crickets under my supervision, just so hes not bored.

And there is no such thing as too deep of a cup. This is my Ambanja picking crickets off from the bleachers.

Another trick to keep the crickets put is to put the cup in with a piece of carrot or something for them to munch on WITH THE LID ON. Place the cup where you want it. Leave it for about 30 seconds, then just remove the lid. They don't feel the need to jump when feeding or not being moved about a lot.

Okay, thanks a bunch. I think im definitely going to give cup feeding a try. It will make me feel a lot better knowing that hes eating what he needs.
Im looking at all these videos of feeding though (not just the ones posted, but others as well) and I notice that Specs isnt NEARLY as excited to eat as all the ones im seeing are. They all go straight for the bait, mine just looks like he hardly notices that they're there. He seems to have little interest in eating. Does this just require time?

Yes. The one i posted took 2 weeks to start cup feeding (he actually hand fed b4 he cup fed). I would put a cup of 10 crickets in and he would not touch them. I would get home and toss them in the cage and he would pick them ALL off one by one.
Someone had mentioned to place the crickets in a cup, but put a stick in leading up and out the cup . They eat the ones that climb out , but get used to the cup and associate it with food/feedings..
Just give it time.

Okay, I guess he just needs a few weeks to get adjusted. Should I start cup feeding right away, or wait a few weeks until hes more comfortable in his new environment?
I also had this same concern with his drinking habits, too. Ive never seen him go after dripping or misted water. However.. I occasionally see him licking dry branches. I have no idea why hes doing this.

Ahh, All my Chams do this . I know exactly what you are talking about . Like they would walk on a branch and just lick it. I don't exactly know what that is. I did notice when they do this their toungs take on a "forked" look.
You may never witness your Cham drink. lol.. Just keep tabs on his urate. if it's white, he is drinking. Mist and dripp regular.

Good news!
Specs is eating a full amount of around 11 crickets a day now. Also, even better, hes cup feeding! He took to the cup almost immediately, which made my life a hundred times easier. Before, the crickets were escaping out of the mesh in the cage. Not only that, but its so much easier to quickly dust and toss the crickets in the cup in the mornings when I have school and have to hurry. I leave it in there while im gone, and come back to an empty cup.
Have some more pictures to share. I just had to get a few of him sleeping, its so cute. My favorite is the last one of him passed out on a leaf!
