Yah I don't think there is any money to be saved, but it is fun, and if done right you end up with a far superior enclosure that fits your, and your chameleons needs.
I don't know how normal it is I have owned chameleons for over twenty years, and have not noticed this behavior. But as long as it goes back in it's okay just keep an eye on it. I also haven't herd of this all in one supplement, but as long as your cham doesn't get too much d3 it should be ok...
Well they go to sleep at dawn they aren't nocturnal. You didn't clarify that in your original post. if that is indeed when they are sleeping that is perfectly normal.
Not sure about the whole hemipenis thing I think that only comes out when well you know he is happy to see a girl chameleon. Are you sure it's not a prolapse? Keep the calcium with d3 which I think is what you have, but just give it to him twice a week. Then get him some calcium without d3 for...
I don't care how much so called success they did or didn't have. In MHO unless you have an eco system large enough to accommodate all the requirements of all the species that you are trying to put together it's a no go. Unless you are GOD, or nature if you prefer I wouldn't even give it a...
It would be best they need that heat to digest their food as well. If he is still real small you could get away with 85, but I wouldn't go below that they need that thermal regulation because unlike us they don't have an internal warming system to warm things up so they must rely on other means...
If you can funnel it, it would be better maybe use some foam board to create it. Otherwise you could have standing water which could attract bacteria. Good luck
Personally I think he is just real hydrated as long as the brown stuff is there as well. Have you been feeding him juicy bugs like silk worms, or horn worms? One more thing you should be giving him calcium without d3 as well. Give it to him with d3 (+) twice a week, and calcium without d3 every...
I think some plastic, or rubber membrane would help waterproof it better than polyurethane being it's the drain catch. I'm afraid a hole drilled with a hose connected to a bucket is your best option, unless someone else can come up with a brilliant way to just make all that water disappear...
Josh again fill out that how to ask for help sheet. and we will try to help you figure this whole thing out, but we can't possibly know what is going on without some information. Fill it out I promise you we will do our best to help you if you are willing to take advise. From the pic I seen of...
Assuming all your husbandry parameters are ok I don't know maybe he want's a little free ranging, you know maybe just tired of being stuck in that cage. Just a guess, but as long as he is eating, and drinking he will be okay. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Try a new insect that always cheers...
It looks great to me, but I would suggest a misting system if you don't already have one. Drippers are great, but sometimes they need that water hitting them for awhile before they get that whole I think I should drink something attitude. Jackson need lots of water, and it's real hard to keep up...
Yah Josh like Virgil said if this is going on during the day it's not a good sign. I'll leave another link for a how to ask for help copy it, and post your answers. I would be quick about it chameleons start showing signs of illness they have already ben sick awhile. They are pretty good at...
