Hey guys!

So, I realized around a week ago that Nik's been feeling a little cramped, and my grandma had a free table.
And it all snowballed from there......

My spring break is next week, so I'm going to be spending a majority of my time building his new cage.
It's a table tho.
How are you supposed to drain off a table? The table is probably going to be the bottom of the enclosure, already been polyurethaned (is that how you spell that?) and now I'm wondering how to drain it.
A lot of people have said that they just drilled holes in the bottom of their cage, but I'm not sure that's a good idea for a table.
How should I drain this?
Suggestions, tips, etc.
All appreciated!

I think some plastic, or rubber membrane would help waterproof it better than polyurethane being it's the drain catch. I'm afraid a hole drilled with a hose connected to a bucket is your best option, unless someone else can come up with a brilliant way to just make all that water disappear. Maybe a substreight, but that brings up a whole lot of other issues to contend with, and even then you would most likely have to drill a hole for drainage.

Yep. Sounds good. So should I have the plastic/rubber membrane funnel toward the drain?
Sorry if these are really basic questions, I'm just trying to make sure Nik gets the best cage possible. Thanks!

Hey i'm doing something similar on my spring break too(from online classes lol...). I'm using a hydroponics reservoir to fill with plants for my free range, on a table with holes drilled in the corners, tubes running down to a bucket. Not sure if there is a better way like others mentioned. I polyurethaned my cabinet that my cage is on right now and If done thoroughly i can't imagine water getting to the wood.

If you can funnel it, it would be better maybe use some foam board to create it. Otherwise you could have standing water which could attract bacteria. Good luck
