Ah I see, Ive seen alot of different things on the internet so I wasn’t sure, Thank you so much for your help,
Your Chameleon- veiled chameleon, female...
It could be because of the lack of coverage but may be the reflection. Ideally you want it to be a jungle in there so you struggle to find her. There are plenty of threads of enclosures on here if you search to get more inspiration for coverage. Ideally you want the plastic plants out of there...
Get the box in there as soon as you can. So it gives her time to get used to the new addition. Also you don’t have to worry about missing any signs or anything if it is in ready.
make sure you drill a small hole the bottom of the lay bin for drainage as the sand/sand soil mix need to be moist...
So receptive means they are looking for a man. They make themselves pretty with their big girl colours then climb everywhere to try and catch the eye. This can last several weeks. Once they have or haven’t they will start to produce the eggs and you will notice her start to become a bit rounder...
As @Flick boy said coco fibre is a no go for a lay bin as it doesn’t hold a tunnel well enough. I would try and get her a bit more coverage with some live plants and a few more horizontal branches too. The extra coverage will help her feel a bit safer generally.
Try and keep the tub in there as...
As @MissSkittles said she is overweight judging by the casque. This can cause real problems with egg production and laying in females. How much and how often do you feed?
Has she ever shown bright colouration or been very restless with you at all? She may just be a late bloomer. She needs to go...
I don’t see a UVB there. You need to get a T5ho with either a 6% or 5.0 bulb. These are long tube bulbs that will run diagonally across the top of the cage. This is an essential piece of kit that you need ASAP.
You will need to add in a multivitamin to your supplements that contains vit A but...
I am going to ask a lot of questions to try and get a better picture of things. As said screen climbing is normal but we want to try and get everything else correct.
Is the basking bulb 125w? If so that is a very high wattage. Unless it gets below about 10c then I would scrap the ceramic as it...
Ok so @MissSkittles has pretty much covered everything. I know UK based groups like to put in the ‘beardie’ hammock or even make their own and I see it in nearly every Viv I see pics of. As said they can catch their nails on it but also they will not sleep on it so I would just pull it out.
I...
Glad to hear he is with the vet. The uvb needs to be at the top. It’s their sun so need to be either on top if it is mesh or mounted to the roof if wooden.
If I was you I would try to replace the top of the Viv for mesh so you get more airflow and can mount the lights outside to reduce burn risk.
Has she been screen climbing? Specifically on the ceiling. Mine has marks like this and they are from her getting herself in a tangle on the roof and scratching herself trying to grab for a branch or screen.
Rhea just after she saw the phone. She around 7 months. She started being really restless about a month ago then her colours really came out as you can see 😊
Ok so the uvb will need to be changed ASAP as this will be likely causing issues as well. You need a linear t5ho 6% to go across the top. This is what you will want https://www.internetreptile.com/arcadia-prot5-uvb-kit-22in-24w-forest-6-uvb/
