Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? Veiled chameleon, not sure of the gender yet,the pet store said about 2 months old, about a week and a half if you can post a pic with the tail straight we can tell you!
Handling -...
well in all honesty chameleons aren't exactly a handling species.. although they can be handled for short periods of time its best to keep it to a minimum unless you're transporting them to a free range or some other lower stress situation... but taking them out just to handle them isn't exactly...
well, a lot of us have confirmed that tarsal spurs can be a little unreliable when sexing a veiled chameleon. some females have actually developed tarsal spurs on their back feet. if you want to take into account tarsal spurs, then look also at the base of the tail for a hemipenal bulge and if...
uhh well it could mean a number of things, could you post a picture of your set up and chameleon so we can get a better judge for what the problem might be??
for starters, something in there is probably bothering him and in that case you might want to fill out this form... by filling it out, it...
yeah I would stay away from petsmart, you're likely going to find a chameleon that's probably been inbred, has health deficiencies or some infection may that be parasites or bacterial problems or some other form of problem from those chain stores... their distributors are much more concerned...
lol I'm gonna jump in real quick
I feel like the thing when breeding chameleons is to have the best traits in there as possible. a larger stronger pair that may have very nice coloration or nice casque growth with little to no signs of physical issues or disabilities would make a good starting...
no doubt humidity can be an issue, I just wrap my enclosure (2 sides) in a shower curtain that is removable and put it up only at night to increase humidity on especially dry days
Well, I would fix up your humidity to around 40% Day time and 80-100% night time and maybe put some more branches up at the top so he can bask but other than that, you're more thorough than me!! I clean bug bins like once a week or two... He's a beautiful boy btw!
yeah, I figured its easier to help recover from a physical illness lol, sugar would be natural because a lot of fruit or veg tend to carry an amount of that and carbs are a boost in energy, kind of like a last hope type of boost, I hope nobody thought that I meant a baby food with added sugar...
lol for first aid, I personally always keep makuna honey (for burns) rept aid (for wounds) water based lubricant (for prolapses) syringes (for feeding if they get sick) carnivore care (for protein if they get sick and refuse to eat) pears (for constipation) a gram scale (to keep track or weight)...

Mango is a veiled chameleon and he is about 8 months old. We got him when we was two months old so he’s been in my care for half a year
Handling - How often do you handle your...
I would get rid of your substrate asap, and that red light, you def need a white heat bulb, colored lights are a big no. you also need much more coverage... and more branches. maybe a live plant or two. do you have a veiled or panther, if you have a veiled, he shouldn't have fake plants since...
yikes $120?! wow!! maybe try home depot or lowes. its much easier I find to make a cage from scratch instead of trying to transform an ikea one. not to mention the wood from ikea will not stand up to much aka misting and stuff like that. I would suggest pvc. I'm currently working on an outdoor...
well, my guy does this when basking, he'll be much darker on the side facing the sun. its also pretty normal for his sides to not exactly match lol, I really wouldn't be concerned about the colors unless it becomes much more drastic without any prompting. then you may have a problem but such a...
