Yeah I added a metal air valve to the dripper to make it easier to adjust, and I agree I bought the mistking as his main source of water/humidity/eye cleansing/hygiene, so I guess now it can just be used for humidity and hygiene purposes. I'll check out dripworks I'm kinda interested to see some...
So I've had my mistking set up for a few months now and my Cham will run through the mist from time to time but he usually goes to his safe spot and hides. Prior to the mistking I just used a dripper, and spray bottle.
Recently I set the dripper back up due to dehydrated poops just to see if...
My boys first day outside, he loved it, I let him bask for about 30 mins and he didn't wanna go back in lol! Hopefully the weather stays nice and he can enjoy it more often...
IMHO just buy the starter, they've all been tested so there's no room for error. building your own would save a little money but is it really worth it, now your spending time on a mister build instead of ordering a product that is recommended by most keepers and just simply installing it in your...
I recently moved my veiled into a new enclosure about 4 days ago, usually he's got his pjs on and lime green/yellow when sleeping but lately the past 2 nights he has been a much darker green...could this be stress related from the new cage? or something else. Temps at night reach no lower than...
Thanks man, put him in yesterday
, guessing he's still getting use to it he didn't eat nothin which is odd since I tried 4 diff feeders silks, horned, wax "his fav" and crix. But I suppose he's still getting acclimated so we'll see. Hope your build is going good post some pics when ur done or...
It's pretty much a shop vac that screws onto a bucket, I just suck up the water in my drainage tray at the end of the day and dump the bucket out, I feel it's easier than making a plumbing drainage system plus if u have multiple cages you can easily go from one to the other and get all the water...
for drainage on my cages I have just a drainage tray and use a bucket head to suck up the water at the end of the day. Most water will evaporate but the excess gets sucked up with the bucket head...
I actually just received my quad about 2 days ago and yes it's awesome, I've been doing this build on this cage for about 1 week I put my plants in it the day I received my quad and even though the plants have only been in there for a few days with a 12/12 light cycle they are thriving more and...
But I agree with @Peachypink Todd will have no problem giving you the best advice since lighting is his specialty, shoot him an email on his site, he's very quick to respond and very helpful.
My quad is setup like this. If your facing the cage the first bulb is daybulb, plant bulb, daybulb uvb so my uvb is the last bulb and my quad sits in the front of the cage so my uvb is pretty much directed strait down the middle of the cage. It all depends on where you place your basking branch...
I'd definitely have your mister go off for more than 15 sec, I have mine set for 3 mins every 3 hrs, your trying to convince your Cham that it's raining I don't think 15 sec would do that no offense. I'd also turn the fogger off periodically depending on humidity, I definitely wouldn't have it...
