    First clutch?

i will start out saying i broke my wrist a month ago, so my typing is atrocious right now. i have no experience with oxytocin, but i do have two female panthers. one that is an egg laying machine, and the second is only about 11 months old and has not laid any yet. my 2 cents worth is that if...

Panther feed schedule- What you think?

Way to many worms. Crickets / roaches should be the main staple IMHO. Once panthers reach 1.5 to 2 years old you can back off to every other day feedings. Especially for females that you are not planning on breading. Over feeding a female can cause her to produce infertile eggs. Also you...

Drainage Systems for Cages - get creative!

Thanks MelissaB, I truely enjoy a good reason to break out my tools. Attached are pics of the custom trim work that I did on the original opening into our family room. The door is just a 28" slad that I used to mock up for the final doors that I have on order still. The final doors are dual...

Drainage Systems for Cages - get creative!

Well I'm always working on my enclosures, as I'm sure most of us do. My brain is always working and creating on how to improve my setups. So with the recent addition of another female Nosy Be, I needed to revamp my drip tray system. So a couple months ago as I was working on installing a set...

    orchids?

I'm right with Xraygirl. I have raised orchids for years, and have some that are clones of the original plants that are over 25 years old. Orchids are beautiful, just as our chameleons are. Even though I'm a Nosy Be kind of a guy, I think carpets are stunning. I have some catteleyas and a...

    Claudia Is Full of Eggs

My female has laid 3 infertile clutches this summer, but her enclosure is big enough to also house her laying bin. I also use wifi network cAmera and block off her enclosure so she doesn't notice me watching her. I have never used the separate trash bin approach but all I can say is patience. My...

    Pregnant, Basking, and Mouth Rot

Vet absolutely to look at her mouth. Are you sure the eggs are fertile? She could be laying infertile eggs from to high basking temps and large quantity of food.

Ever heard the quote "water under the bridge"? Don't do it. You are just asking for problems.

    Meet Mara Jade....

She's a trooper Jannb, tks. She smoothed out her laying bin almost like nothing had disturbed a thing. She's permanently inside now, so next time she does this they won't be infertile.

    Meet Mara Jade....

She went butt first into a hole yesterday morning.... Mara Jade laid her infertile eggs yesterday. Today it was all about her. She got a nice long misting, ate an assortment of feeders, and spent most of the day hanging in the warmth of her basking light. This entire past week, she was...

    Bugs in Organic Soil

I have microwaved soil before doing my re-potting process, and I've not. Here are the steps I used w/ great success of no bugs in my plants that I keep indoors. I first remove as much of the soil from the root ball as possible. Not removing all of the soil but most of it. I make up a 50/50...

Pretty impressive transformation. Great work. Now understand I am a HUGE live plant nut, so go get yourself a nice big shefflera and cover up all that great work. Your cham will love and need more coverage to hide in and about in. Nice job.

    Meet Mara Jade....

She heard me sit down at the computer and came to the side of her enclosure that isn't covered right now. I recently put two enclosures together. You can see in the 2nd pic where I removed the screen between the two and laced them together w/ 50# mono.

    Meet Mara Jade....

At this point I've permanently brought her inside. Being outside on my covered patio where Luke Skywalker stays during the summer is just to warm for her. She is currently starting to dig again in her egg bin. This is the 3rd time this summer. I noticed her gaining weight on my monday...

Official Enclosure Picture Thread #2 - post your pics!

http://www.louispage.com/welded-wire-mesh/vinyl-coated/vinyl-coated-23-gauge I used 1/4" PVC coated wire mesh for my outdoor enclosure. Originally I did up a 6'wide x 6'tall x 3'deep enclosure, but it turned out to be to big. I recently modified it down to 3x3x6, and it now fits on my...

    New Chameleon Gender

my first impression is that "he" is a she. males show a modest bulge right behind their vent even at this age. Your pic was pretty good pic to see the area. that magical area seems to be pretty flat and smooth. Do you search and you'll see a bunch of threads that discuss exactly what you are...
