Vinegar should work. I use chlorahexidine as it is safe for everything..cham, plants, you, etc.. I used to fill my tub half way a throw a cup of bleach in and stir it good then put things in. Everything in both my cages is so tied down now i use the chlor. Clean the outside of all pots and...
Since you have an mbd issue ask the vet for liquid calcuim and a syringe so you can shoot it into a hornworm and give it to him that way as it will absorb faster and easier. Also make sure they check vitamin A in the blood work. You might want to start taking him on short walks for vit d from...
Put a towel on the bottom of the box and make sure its deep enought that she cant reach the top even if on tiptoe on top of the branch. That way she wont keep trying to climb out and will calm down quickly. Either wedge her in on the floor behind the front seats or seat belt the box in. Good...
also all fake plants need to go. Real plants help humidity levels and allow chams to drink off of leaves. The biggest problem is veileds eat plants and one bite of a fake leaf will cause impaction and possible death! Flukers has bend a branch vines which are great and inexpensive. Make sure...
One thing is burns take a long time to heal. I know you have the urge to help things along, but the best course of action is to leave it alone and let the molt come off on its own. put a bit of the silver cream on the area that is bleeding as it has an antibiotic in it. do not touch any burnt...
I have dealt with many burns in the past. What amazes me is the ability of chams to regenerate given time, a lot of time. So i suggest you take compartive pics every six months to track changes. Chams r really remarkable creatures! He is gorgous nonetheless.
If that is the area and its not a shadow, then you have got some trouble and need a vet. That whole thing will come off as it is dying. Also he looks dehydrated to me
Btw i cant tell if that dark area towards the navk is a shadow or not.. if that is the area u r talking about, then that maybe a burn. Can you post more pics
Now if you are talking about the discoloration on the side, that i can not tell. If anything starts to turn black, then you need silver cream which is only by prescription. Never touch with bare hands and know burns can take years to resolve with chameleons. it they lose their spikes it will...
No not a burn. A burn will start off looking like the spikes have been scraped then they will turn black then die and fall off leaving open wound below which requires silver cream. That does not look like a burn. As they get fully mature their spikes change colors too.
This is just awful. Its strange the hawk is coming around aggresively afterward. there is a slim possibilty that glibert got dropped and its still hunting him. Like i said its slim, very slim, but i would keep my eye out! So sorry for this to happen to you. What a nightmare!
Well my Rosie is a panther and she was left out in the sun to die in texas as they thought she was eggbound. She was rescued, but had aquite abit if sunburn. The eye lids were the worst one was black on part of it but there was an area in her tail that was lighter then everywhere else. It stayed...
WelI I am on it! It took only a few days to swell that big. But she was right its connected and she didnt want him to lose sight in that eye. Thankfully it didnt apoear in the roof of his mouth and she told me there is a space right inbetween there for the nostril. The needle aspiration only...
I know, its heart breaking! Well he sticks hus tongue out and takes the drops unless he gets frustrated that i am doing it too slow then grabs the dropper with hus mouth! Little stinker. It took a long time to teach him with more water on me then in him, but patience has paid off!
