And I am sorry if I came off not open to suggestions and input, maybe I should have had my morning coffee before reading your response and I was reading it all wrong. I am very open to learning everything I can. I have spent hours upon hours reading about how to properly care for my Loki, and I...
You seem to be putting words in my mouth, I never said I'm not interested in any unsolicited advice, but I have decided going to trust my vet in this instance, until I can a fecal test done on him, that doesn't mean I'm putting a blind trust on him. Also I did my own research on the medication...
Like I said, I am going to trust my vet on this. I questioned him thoroughly about treating Loki, since he was a petsmart chameleon it's a likely chance he has the same parasites as my beardie. They are both taking panacur and ponazuril.. I am constantly making sure Loki is hydrated. He also...
I took Loki to the vet for the first time, I wasn't able to get a fecal sample done because I did my routine poop clean up the day before, forgetting I needed to save it, and he didn't leave any presents before leaving in the morning. My bearded dragon also went to the vet and his fecal test...
Thanks for the input everyone ;) I think based on his size around 4 months makes a little more sense. He really has a great personality and is very friendly. Every time I open his cage to feed him or clean up he's reaching for me and practically jumping into my hands. I know as he matures that...
Yes he is much smaller then yours, I could be wrong on how long he was at petsmart, but I know he was there at least more then a month. Hopefully with the right care (and lots of love) he'll start growing fast :)
Picture I took today
He is regular daily, his urate were a little orange-ish early this week but after some extra care to make sure he's actually drinking water by getting a few drops on his face a couple times a day they are back to white now. Currently eating about 10-12 crickets a day. I've only had him 1 week...
So I know this very general because of course all chameleons grow at different rates, but after looking at so many pictures of all your different chameleons around the same age I feel like they they much larger and.more colorful then my Loki. I was guessing he was around 6 months.
(I got him...
Awww, a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. I am not strong at the tough love either, I feel your pain. And the babies (no matter what species, reptile or human) don't understand it truly is harder on us not to give in lol
Thanks, good to know. I have a friend who is a bit of an expert who told me, after we noticed he had become a bit dehydrated, to offer him water twice a day by dropping some water on his face. It definitely helped and noticed the difference in his poops within a day or two :)
I have a drip thing, "the little dripper", but haven't set it up because I haven't figured out the best way to set it up without just setting it on top of his cage, so I have just been manually misting his tank 2-3x a day. He also has a little water fountain thing, it pumps water over leaves...
Hello everyone! I've been reading all your threads for the last few days and decided I should join :) my name is Amanda and as of last Thursday I am a proud veiled chameleon owner!
I'm still new in the world of reptiles, but I found my calling to them when my sister bought my son a Leopard...
