Sorry, my current batch is too young and won't be ready for another couple of months. That and eggs is pretty much all I have going on at the moment. Thanks for the hit though, Reptofreak.
I am a Panther breeder in Indiana, but my latest batch of little ones aren't ready yet (just over a month old at this point and I won't sell any under 3 months).
I do know a good guy in Ohio if you want to message me I would be happy to point you his way.
I use tall, clear deli cups, maybe 32 oz? Not 100% sure of the volume, but I use strong clips to attach them to a vine just below preferred resting spots so they can look down into the cup and see the feeders. I have had no problems with that. I also have the "Shooting Gallery" feeder setup on...
They can definitely be individuals, but even my smaller chams love black soldier flies. I would say that by 5-6 months they should be able to tackle the adult form. As for the stubborn hold-outs, well they are probably a bit fat and lazy with easy food delivered right to them, but if they go a...
Very sorry that you lost your girl, but the pics surely tell the story of MBD. I know it sucks to lose one, but at least you know that one week in your care wasn't the cause.
I hope you have a better experience next time.
As regards your hydration strategy, I have to ask how long you mist each time? I find that most of my chams don't even start to drink unless the mist lasts well over a minute, some of them take much longer to start.
All good advice given to you so far. I just put the larvae in a clear cup that varies in size depending on the age/size of the cham I am feeding. They tend to stay in the cup until they are ready to pupate and become a fly.
I have also purchased from Calcigrubs and plan to keep using them as a...
Agree. Female panthers can really look the same regardless of location in many cases. Not all, mind you, but the breeder is the only one who can give you the facts on lineage/location in most cases.
I used to use top hat crickets. They have great quality, but are very pricey. I have gone with Rainbow Mealworms now for a couple of months and it's worked out very well and it's much more budget friendly. I had one bad batch come in from Rainbow, but they were right on top of it and got it...
I would keep it in. Definitely better safe than sorry. With my lay bins, I spray them with water about once a week to be sure they are still good to go. I am sure others have other regimens that work for them. I just like to be sure that the sand/soil mixture in mine stays easy for them to dig...
Salty, if you ever decide to ship, I can't say enough good things about Ship Your Reptiles. They really have done me right from start to finish, and it's nice that they have prices you can live with.
I know this isn't a thread about shipping, just wanted to put it out there if you ever thought...
For a good looking male? It's a pretty decent price. I charge about that when I sell my males, give or take for quality and genetics. But then I am not a "Big Time" seller. To me, and please realize that opinion is entirely subjective, the value of a chameleon is all in the temperament...
Beware of any seller who is willing to send you a panther under 3-4 months old, regardless of price. I have seen far too many stories of people receiving "baby" panthers that fail to thrive and die for no outwardly apparent reason.
If you really want to save money and take a risk, find someone...

These aren't feeding on common nightshades apparently, but I would look up the listed plants they are feeding on to be sure.
Some of the best fake rocks I ever made were created by beating the crap out of cardboard boxes, spray painting them, then coating inside and out with fiberglass resin. They looked smooth and very natural.
I don't think I still have pics of them, but I will look online and see if I can locate...
Love the shot of the baby looking at the camera. I am in envy of your pic taking skills! I take a hundred, and maybe get one worth keeping.
Keep them coming, Jan! Love it!
