I just checked on my phone. It does show up a little more reddish on my phone compared to on my MacBook Air. So on my MBA it is a darkish pink and on my phone it is a light red. Maybe the difference is in our settings or maybe we also see differently.
Either way, I am jealous. lol
When I was still living in Canada seven years ago, I had a 180 and a 130 gallon saltwater marine tanks. Prior to keeping saltwater I was into African Cichlids. So I can understand my nonproductive days of researching since I became interested in the idea of getting a chameleon. lol
The green scales look fabulous but the claws do show up a little on the pink to dark pink side. Kind of a translucent pink. Not quite the dark or rich ruby red that you described. Sorry. Maybe one of the photographers on here can help you set the camera to get a more true image.
Thanks for you comments.
That's unfortunate. I guess the only time that I will get to personally feed him will be on weekends and school holidays (now that I am a teacher. If I had planned it better, I would have gotten one at the beginning of the summer break so that I would be able to give it...
Thank you very much Booly!
This is a very nice review.
The door issue I suppose I might be able to deal with but like you said about the LED lights, it will probably be overkill and not be used much since the other lights will be on for the full 12 hours or so of lighting time and all lights...
Thanks for everyones comments so far. Keep them coming.
Are you only referring to the weekdays, meaing 5 days? If so, on the other two days do you not feed them at all? I have read that chams 'can' go days without eating so I guess that shouldn't be a problem.
Do you think feeding them at 6am...
This would definitely eliminate the risk of them biting your cham, which is good. Did I read in some other posts that it was superworms that can still bite while they are inside the cham, or was I misinterpreting what was written there?
Just wondering when you all feed your chams. I leave for work very early in the morning (about 6:30am). I understand that chams should be fed during the day when the lights will be on to help with their digestion. So it would not be good to feed them too late in the day.
So if you could share...
I am still new to this but are cork backgrounds popular for chameleon cages because I haven't seen it in all the set ups that I have seen on the Internet or pictures in here yet. I would like to consider it if it is ok, as an alternative to putting up a shower curtain on the wall or along the...
And at least one member, no names mentioned, doesn't even have one chameleon.:D
Whenever I watch YouTube videos on chameleons, I am going to start asking people to sign up at this forum to ask their questions. I see so much bad advice out there and so many people wanting to buy a...
You probably mean one of those rubber hammers, which have large black rubber instead of the steel ended hammers. And maybe place paper or something in between the ceiling and the hammer in case the black rubber marks up the ceiling. Alternatively, there is an tool called 'stud finders' that...
Thanks for the pictures.
So does the shower curtain run along the back of the cages and then it continues down into the bottom of your cages? You mention "the hole is covered by the showercurtain" so it sounds like the shower curtain is also on the base. Or is it just a separate piece of shower...
I am going to be that guy that asks for a picture of what you are talking about because I don't know what a curve is and how the garden hoses are attached and how the shower yet in helps with the drainage. Thanks.
I am a little bit embarrassed to have started this thread because if anyone is adding me, I don't have any pictures of chams of my own yet because I don't even have a cham yet. I am living vicariously through you all for now LOL. And now it is even easier now that I have your Instagram accounts...
I have a question regarding this rule and how to measure the size of the insects, let's take crickets for example. Is it the width or the length of the cricket? And do you apply this same rule to other insects that tend to be ong and narrow such as meal worms, silk worms, horn worms, etc?
I am in Hong Kong so I know what you mean by some special products not being readily available in the local shops. Two things that I am considering that I cannot get here right now are the ZooMed Reptibreeze XL LED Deluxe model and Mist King.
On another subject, any chance you are living in...
That sounds about right for me. Let the others chime in.
Another thing you could do is, if you trust the person working at the hardware store, bring your bulb to them and ask them if that ballast will work with that bulb. (oops, I type too slow lol)
