Can I point out, respectfully, that bringing the controversial topics *into this thread* and offering your opinion on them is not a way to express your willingness to avoid aggression and argument. I would humbly suggest to leave your opinions on known argument-inducing topics in THOSE threads.
We set up his larger enclosure today. Also attached is a photo of him eating a great big dubia. He likes the winged ones, but won't touch the others unfortunately. So it's back to crickets I guess.
In a screen cage the humidity is going to be pretty much whatever the humidity of the room is. Same with the over all temperature. You can attempt to humidify the whole room, or you can do as poster above suggested and cover most of the screen with plastic to retain humidity.
I've been fascinated by herptiles for as long as I can remember (which means since the age of 2 or 3), and used to spend time searching for garter snakes and tree frogs in the yard. Any time we went to a naturalistic area (which was frequently) I would try to find them. My parents would let me...
I think you're doing the right thing. Very very few chameleons will just willingly walk out onto your hand. If he does it now with a food bribe you should be quite happy, in my opinion.

No I have not, but I've already spec'ed it out and it would be a piece of cake. I don't think I will do it since I'd rather have the 2nd cage for another chameleon.
Michi will be getting his new cage today. I adopted him with a reptibreeze 18 x 18 x 36 screen cage, and although he seems perfectly content in there I want to give him some more space. Today I have a pair of 24 x 24 x 48 screen cages arriving. I probably will just keep him in one of them but...
Just to be absolutely clear, xantholophus is a Jackson's Chameleon, Trioceros Jacksonii Xantholophus. Not sure if that point was understood or not. She's a good looking lady, too!
