Please help. I have appointment on Tuesday, but I almost don't think it is needed because the eye was already affected from the UVB burn. Of course I will take him in a heart beat if needed. Already spent about $800
I need a second opinion. My chameleons right eye was originally burnt from having a concentrated UVB bulb. Saw a vet twice, and antibiotics, pain meds, and anti inflammatories were not working. Went for a second opinion from a different vet (this eye has cost me over $800 within the last year)...
Ugh... i hear you, and I will probably take to a vet but it is tough when I have taken him to the vet atleast 5 times within the last two months for eye problems...eye is perfect now that I have switched to the linear UVB, but yea... I am slightlynconcerened over the mouth...is it really that...
Hey everyone, so I dont know if I am just being paranoid because of a glass enclosure, but I do see my chameleon have his mouth gaping quite often. I do not hear any sounds, and there is some saliva, but I have no clue if that is normal or not. Now, I do have the ventilated exo terra 24 x 38 x...
I just want to update everyone! I got my new light set up, and lone behold....His eye is healing! It only took 3 vet visits to figure out that he didnt need antibiotics, anti inflammatories, pain meds, or eye drops...He needed a linear bulb the entire time! His eye is far from perfect, but it is...
Oh man...that sou ds pricey, but I guess you have to do wha you have to do. I hope you are able to come to a conclusion as to why you are still having light issues. Yea! I really like this new vet...he said he would not charge me for the appointment if I go get proper lighting. I am pretty...
I really, really appreciate all the information everyone! I have made the proper changes so hopefully his eye can heal!!
Ps... I am using a 150 watt for the basking spot and the highest temp is only 84 f! Argggg
I still dont understand why the light on the basking spot wont hurt his eyes, but the compact UVB will? To me, they would be both hard on the eyes. Should the basking spot be linear as well? I am so confused and I want to get it right :(
Thwt is the exact one I got;) the T5. It really only cost me $140 in Canadian. It is a lot, but his health is important :) that makes perfect sense in regards to the difference in costs over time. And yep, if you go into Zoo Med, they do have the LED UVB for reptiles, but at insane costs...
