I'm so sorry... That must be so hard. I'm sure a lot of us can relate, and I'm praying that he rests in peace... My many condolences and respects. You tried to save an animal many other people would have ignored, and that is a noble, honorable thing.
My grandpa would tell me "the only time you need to worry is when he's black. Then he's dead."
Apparently that's not the case.:rolleyes::ROFLMAO:
That's SOO cool! He looks like he's part of the treetrunk!
So, I've been reading this thread a while, and I'm wanting to make sure i've got all the information right:
Eggs are laid, then you carefully dig them up and place them in a soil-y substance ( any good ones? not hatching any babies, just storing away for future referance) and you incubate them...
Um, I'm pretty sure that's a female from the original post.
Several things:
small casque
no bands of color (more of speckles on a green background)
small spurs (males are MUCH bigger)
small base of the tail (no hemipenes) (is that how you spell that?)
I may be wrong. Just saying. I suggest you...
I respect your opinion, @ChameleonClem, but I think for the sake of my own sanity and upholding my moral standards I have to disagree with you on the WCs.
You have to think about it from the chameleon's point of view. This chameleon has been uprooted from it's home; it has nowhere to go. It's...
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery!
He's looking much calmer in this photo, not as much what I perceived as "stress colors".
I hope he recovers, and that you can provide him the long healthy life he was denied previously....
In order to make the best possible enclosure for your cham, you need to have several things:
PLANTS. Real or fake. Both are great. If you are getting a veiled chameleon, usually get live plants.
Mister. Essential to a chameleon's health. If you can't get a automated mister (like a MistKing) get...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ENCLOSURE. This is the kind of enclosure that all cham-nerds dream of having...(y)
I recognize several of the plants, but I'm not a gardener. I recognize several of the plants, but not all of them. What were the plants used? They all look fantastic. Really jungle-y.
My new cham refused to eat dubia one day, but the next day he was going crazy over them. (i.e: I keep the food next to his cage most of the time. He was sitting on the lowest branch in the cage staring at them. I walked in to see him trying to shoot at them. Got the hint, he ate 7 in 3 mouthfuls!)
