Good, then I'm glad I shared. (: & yes, you'd be better off doing it yourself, plus there are some really great threads on here of people creating their own enclosures!
Hi! I also live in the DFW area, are you speaking of the DFW Reptarium? I would highly suggest steering clear of them, most especially if you are looking for a cham/anything cham related. In dec. I got my very first chameleon from the DFW Reptarium after researching the hobby for years, ensuring...
At that age, (esp. if your chameleon is a male) he should be eating as much as he wants and as he ages up then his amount of bugs should be decreased accordingly. The BSFL are a really great option because of the high calcium to phosphorus ratio; however, wax worms are pretty fattening so they...
I’m so, so sorry for your loss )): at least now he’s at peace and resting with his sister. I know you must be taking this really hard, make sure to take care of yourself too. If you need someone to talk to you can message me, I think I may understand what you're going through both mental health...
I just read through your thread and my heart hurts for you ): I definitely understand and empathize with your struggles with mental health & your father. I know you probably feel immense amounts of guilt or shame for not being able to keep up with the needs of your little guy, but know that it...
In my opinion, there definitely seems to be more going on with him than just the fall. It's not very common for a chameleon to fall hard or far enough to injure themself with no reason behind it. In the pictures you showed he sadly looks pretty unhealthy. His back legs do seem to look pretty...
This is a bit much, especially considering superworms have higher fat content than other food items. He should be getting fed somewhere near 5 nutritious bugs every other day also while skipping the weekend, so it could very well be an issue with him being overweight.
Also, might be nitpicky of me but could you post a different picture of your cham where it's more of a side view? He looks like his cheeks are a little chubby, but it could be me overthinking. If you're feeding him too often it can lead to obesity & that causes both gout and may also cause him...
You should research gout in chameleons. Sounds like that may be what's going on with your guy. Definitely get him to an experienced cham vet ASAP, blood tests will be able to diagnose him. I'm so sorry he isn't feeling well, I hope he pulls through. ):
p.s. here is some info on gout if you'd...
Welcome! Handsome little guy you got there!
For now the size of the enclosure is okay, but as he grows he's gonna need something like a 2'x2'x 4', bigger is better.
The live plants are good! However, it seems pretty bare for a cham, so I would recommend adding more live plants so your guy...
Could you post pictures of your cham and his setup? Honestly your husbandry looks quite good. Only thing I would ask is since he's such a little baby, how far away is your uvb/basking bulb from his basking branch? For babies they should be no closer than 8 or 9'' away from the uvb bulb. The...
I'm not sure what you mean by blast them, but baking them is quite simple and efficient. Neptune The Chameleon on youtube has a good video on sanitizing branches.

You're welcome! Yes, crickets can be convenient especially for the little babies, but there could still be some nicer...
Dubias are actually quite simple to care for, definitely easier than some other more popular options such as crickets. Here is a link to a care sheet that has pretty good info: https://dubiaroaches.com/pages/dubia-roach-care-sheet
Good luck with your new little girl! :)
Do you gutload your crickets? Gutloading your feeder insects are a very important part to feeding your chameleon, without gutloading them (esp bugs lower in nutrition such as crickets) it's similar to feeding your little guy potato chips. Also, chams prefer a varied diet so I would suggest...
Welcome! One thing I would say is you don't have enough foliage in his enclosure. Especially babies like him need lots of places to hide, & the foliage and hiding spots will make him feel safe & secure in his new home. You should also fill out the chameleon info sheet so we could give you...
So sorry your guy isn’t doing too well. I’m a new keeper so I won’t give my personal input, but I had a very similar situation to you with my baby. If you’re interested you might look through my thread I posted last night and seeing what people had to say to me might give you some extra pointers...
