First of all, this thread is hilarious! It's been a great study break for me to read through all these!
I caught my boy sleepwalking a few nights ago! It was hours after his lights had turned off, and I heard him fidgeting around on the walls of his cage. I looked through in the dark and saw...
I'm not an expert, but I do know that chams do change colors during adolescence, (2-4 months old) and begin to develop their permanent markings around that age! It looks like her colors are pretty normal in both of those pictures, so I wouldn't worry too much. :)
Haha, alright, maybe this pic was too easy. :P
He blends in perfectly with all his plastic plants (obviously, lol) so it's like a game trying to find him every day!
Hey! This is a weird coincidence--I just posted a thread with the exact same question a few days ago, right here. I got some good advice from others there. Apparently it's normal for chams to go through a type of "puberty," where they become more territorial, and don't tolerate handling as...
Alright, I guess i should let him have his space for now. He's totally fine with hand feeding, so hopefully he'll calm down soon!
No, I haven't changed a thing, which is why this is so odd. I also just remembered that this seemed like it started right after he last shed. At the beginning of...
Thanks for all the tips guys! I'll do my best to earn his trust again. :) Since he's been doing this I've been continuing to take him out once a day to hand feed him his favorite worms...he definitely doesn't like coming out but he does appreciate the worms...I was hoping he would associate...
Hey guys,
My little guy Jabba is somewhere around 6 months old now. He's always been a really chill guy, and very good with being handled! He never stressed when climbing around on me, and he was even fine being handled by people he didn't know! (Even fell asleep once on my friend who he'd...
Wow, I left this thread hanging forever with a faulty picture, oops!
I've changed out the plant since I took the last pic, and I like the look of this one so much better! :)
Challenge #2: can you find him hiding in this pic?
Here's an update on my buddy's cage!
I got a nice healthy hibiscus in the middle now, and added some more hanging leaves from the top. He seems to love his new plant! He hasn't tasted it yet, but I'm sure that's coming soon. :P
These are awesome tips! Thank you guys!
Dang, I didn't know they ate so much! Maybe I'll have to buy a few more to rotate out so this one doesn't get devoured! Thanks !!
Thanks for the help guys!
So I decided to go with a nicely sized hibiscus plant, because it was cheap and apparently easy to care for! Any advice on how to prepare it to put it in the cage with my guy? I don't want to risk him ingesting any foreign substances on there.
Thanks for the reply! I am working on getting some more foliage and hiding places for him, and I plan on upgrading his home once he gets a little bigger! (Maybe for his birthday:) )
Hello friends!
I've been around on the forums for almost a month now, and I'm so excited to say I finally took my beloved baby cham home from the pet store I work at!
His name is Jabba, we guess he's around 6 months old, and he is full of personality!
I just finished setting up his cage...
Okay, a room-sized humidifier would probably be doable. It sounds a lot easier than getting one of those $75 misting systems!
I have been called crazy for trying to keep a chameleon on a budget, but I'm not going to let anything stop me from DIYing the heck out of this setup and making it...
I'm bringing home a juvenile veiled, and housing him in a full mesh repti-breeze. I've been looking into prices for these misters and they are insane!!
This might be a stupid question but would a mini humidifier from Amazon be okay to use instead?
Hello again, chameleon forums!
So I've finally decided to commit to taking home my favorite baby boy from the pet store I work for. :) (Thanks everyone for the advice on him!) I've got a cage with vines and a water dripper on hold for me so far, but I need some advice on misting.
I won't be...
No, I'm in the midwest US. :)
I was looking on PetMountain yesterday! It seems like they have really great prices and really quality stuff. But I did just find out that there's a reptile expo coming to my town in a week, so I'm definitely going there to check out their prices!
Here's the one...
