The enclosure (even nooks and crannies) dry out between each misting. There are no reservoirs in the foam walls that will hold water for too long, despite their appearance. It's pond foam which wicks away the water and forms tiny droplets which quickly evaporate. There is no need to clean the...
Thanks. No the base is simply the pvc board that came with the enclosure with small holes drilled in for drainage into the collection tray below. I'm one of those anti-substrate keepers for chams. I prefer the simplicity for a) cleaning and b) lower potential for collateral damage (mold...
Awesome! Can't wait to see pictures of your completed setup. Your guy will be very happy, I'm sure. Here's a picture of my Dragon Strand. It's the large Breeder series. Bannermist by Direwolf posted Jan 30, 2016 at 8:14 AM
Hi, all --
I wanted to share a quick picture update of my sweet Ambilobe Panther, Darkstar. He just turned four months old on February 23rd! I'm looking forward to his next shed. He is a hungry guy...he readily eats butterworms, turks, dubias, goliaths, phoenix worms, crix, and false stable...
Rats!
I just ruined a nice batch of false stable flies :( I put them in the fridge for a few minutes to knock them out. Then I went to dust them, and there must have been a tiny amount of moisture in the container because when I dusted they turned into a soupy mess. Now none of the flies can...
Hi forum members,
I came home from a tiring work day at the clinic noticed my little man (3 month old ambilobe) had pooped three times. Very healthy looking. White urates. All is good. No diarrhea. No strange smell. Except...three poops?! Is this normal to have so many healthy bowel movements...
Hi forum members, I was hoping someone could shed some light on the use of *live* curly willow branches bought from my local supermarket. They are the perfect size for my 3 month old Ambilobe, and allow him to exercise his gripping strength on different branches with multiple widths. All the...
Like the the forum poster above mentioned, "wiggling" on a branch is a sign that the fight or flight mechanism is activating in your Cham. In other words, she perceives a threat and is trying to neutralize it. By "wiggling" on her branch she is attempting to replicate a leaf caught in a breeze...
Hi pgr7,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your jacksons, and congratulations on your new Ambilobe! I wish him a long and very happy life with you :) I would love to see pictures of your built enclosure and new boy! How old is your Ambilobe? Cheers from Portland, OR.

Hi Herbie406,
Congrats on your new little one! I too have seen my guy, a 3 month old Panther, occasionally puff his eyes in the morning. My guy also does a morning "yawn" (or chameleon equivalent) which seems to me like he's stretching his jaw and/or wetting his mouth after a night of snoozing.
