Could be- I usually will do sweet potato and kale (he doesn't really touch the kale much anymore though).. but he loves his sweet potato, I usually give it once or twice every week/every other week. His diet consists mostly of insects though!
Okay, thank you! My vet told me to stop using the other supplementation and to just stick with Repashy Calcium Plus twice weekly for now. I'm just unsure if I should continue to do the Calcium Plus 2x weekly or continue to dust each feeding with Calcium without d3 and then multivitamins monthly.
I gutload with Repashy Bug Burger. That's the other issue I was having :(( I was originally dusting with calcium without D3 daily and with d3 and multivitamins twice a month. When I got his lab work done, the vet said his calcium levels were too high at 15.1 and to use Repashy Calcium Plus two...
I asked my vet about this as well and he said in the bloodwork, there wasn't any excessive fat content noted and it feels like air if pressed on. He told me to continue feeding him daily, if he eats it because he wants him to keep on the weight. What is your recommendation with feeding??
I feed him every day to every other day usually. I'll give him 3-5 crickets, depending on how hungry he is.. I feed him a variety of foods that include insects and vegetables- crickets are my staple though.
Very true! The vet squeezed the area on the casque and it was only air so he was thinking possible muscle mass growth in this area causing some air to form due to excessive calcium. Chammy has the grip of death 😂 where the vet doesn't suspect any MBD, at this moment.
Do you think this could be what's causing the swelling in the casque? I'm going to just dust twice a week with the Calcium plus and get him out into the sun more then!
Okay, thank you! I brought that up with the vet a few months ago when I saw it starting to bend and took him right away. He did the xray to measure bone density and said everything looked great :( I will get him out into the sun more than I do now, he just started shedding the day before...
Hello!
I recently went to my exotic vet and got a workup on my chameleon- labs, blood cultures, etc. because his casque started to swell. There appears to be no visible signs of any bacterial or respiratory infections present, per the vet. However, the labs resulted in high calcium levels to be...
@kinyonga
Okay, I will make sure I dust with the Herptivite when I do the Calcium with D3.
I use the bulbs rather than the long, linear tubes. I am going to attach a photo of the two lights that I use. If you think the linear tubing would be better, I can buy one instead of the dome bulbs.
