It's just going to take time, if at all. Find what he likes a lot and offer it to him with your hand. He needs to associate your hand with a pleasant experience, not a threat. This will take more than 2 weeks, but every cham is different. Move slow, and have lots of patience.
Cover existing soil with organic soil, then cover with something like river rocks or screen. You can wash plant leaves with water outside with hose or in a shower.
