A while back I made a post on how I decided to breed my male Ambilobe and female Nosy Mitsio. The babies hatched in December and were all sold last month except for one I decided to keep because they were the runt of the bunch. They’re 5 months old now and doing well but still quite tiny and...
So it’s a clutch of 19, there’s 5 more who are starting to poke their head out of the egg and 3-4 others who are sweating. The others from what I can see from candling still maybe have a month or so to go, and there’s a few eggs that look like not much development has gone on but I’ll still hold...
I’ve posted here a few times regarding mating my panther chameleons. In March my female laid her first clutch. Almost nine months later (off by about 4-5 days) they’re starting to hatch. They are cross breeds, my female is a Nosy Mitsio and my male is an Ambilobe. Anyways just really excited...
It stays steady between 73-76 F however I live in Canada and sometimes the temperatures have dipped a little but im quick to get it back. The humidity is fine. Yes they are always in the dark!
Can anyone help me out to understand exactly what I’m looking at here? Fertile clutch from mating my two panthers, 7 months along. Closet method. First time. Trying to gauge how long I have left until hatching. Sorry for the bad quality/ not focused these were difficult to get a photo of. I’m...
So I made a post a while ago about how I was thinking of mating my male Ambilobe and my female Nosy Mitsio.
Well, the mating was a total success and they were both immediately receptive. Within maybe 40 minutes it was said and done and about 30 days later... my girl laid a nice, healthy looking...
Oh she’s about 8 months now. I did not
Know that so thank you for that information in the future. I do know the more you feed females they will tend to lay big clutches ( my very first Cham was a female veiled and I was guilty of over feeding) and I was shocked at how many eggs she laid. But I’m...
Thanks 😊 I’m excited. Plus watching everything go down was so amazing and fascinating to me. It amazes me how large the males are compared to the females when it’s put in perspective like this lol
By the way I’d like to thank everyone who is actually providing educational info, I really appreciate it. Some people can be so mean when it comes to this stuff. I want the best for my chams and I’m always trying to learn more.
Also I have the breeders info and all the info on my Male, my female was purchased from a reptile geared pet store and I was told she was second generation wild caught .. she was hard to tame but I’ve gotten her to a point where she somewhat trusts me lol
She actually hasn’t laid a clutch yet. I’ve been doing research on the whole process and set ups for months ( this has been in my head months of debating on doing this ) but no I did not know that. That’s why I come here to
Learn more and continue to do my research.
I figured around that price...
like I said I honestly did not ever have the intention of breeding, I thought I had two males but turned out I got a female. I honestly let it happen because I saw how excited my boy was and let’s be honest I mean chameleons lives basically ( like all animals pretty much) revolve around eating...
That’s true, but I would assume most chameleon enthusiasts ( ones that are more advanced in their knowledge on locales and breeding and what not) would know that cross bred chameleons are worth less. I guess they make their money hyping these hybrids up and of course people who don’t know much...
