Do you know the bloodlines of your baby? That should be a usual indication if you have a blue bar or red bar. Young males can show various coloration when small like the cham in your avatar. But as they get older, you will know if you have a blue bar or a red bar. Can you post a pic of him?

What is the temp in the cage. If it is not warm enough, they will sit under the UV light so they can warm up. It can take babies several days to begin eating.

I am glad she ate. It could have been the size difference in the mouse that you offered. But I suspect it was the different smell of the mouse. Rats and mice have a different scent to them. Some ball pythons have a preference to what they like.
