Getting her to drink doesn't really seem to be a problem, at least when compared to other peoples Chams. I see her drink daily, and she usually drinks until she has had enough from the looks of it. How much should they drink daily? 1 cup? 1/4 liter? any idea?
Can't really find any local worms that are high in hydration unfortunately. I currently am using Ice Cubes as a drip system. I just throw one up on her cage and let it melt for the next 1 hour to 1.5 hours
No one 'diagnosed' her with MBD but I was just unsure if those indents were from her leg positioning or if she was just fat or what. As of the urate, I can't get it tested until next week at the soonest. Do you have any suggestions until then? Should I try showering her? I have yet to do this...
I've had my female Jackson's home for a week now and everything seems to be fine. She is a very mild tempered cham and seems very forgiving based on this last week. My current worry is that she is still dehydrated even though I mist her at least 3 times a day if not more and I see her drink for...
Right, I was aware of that but once again, this is a pretty severe case. I wouldn't expect the 'extra' joint to be nearly as prominent at early stages.
I have a hard time agreeing with this as I have never personally seen a female jackson's (any of the 3 species) that has a horn. If you have some evidence or a reference to why you think that, I would be interested.
EDIT: Mmmmm, the coloring makes me think female as well and it definitely looks...
Correct me if I am wrong, but MBD seems to be pretty easy to diagnose in a Veiled because of the deformed casque. The amount of deformation would vary though depending on how long it's had to develop.
I've only had my Jackson's home for a few days but I have caught her drinking 3-4 times off various items so just keep looking! It does happen eventually :D
My Female Jackson doesn't eat when she is full but she has only been at my house for 3 days so that could still be stress. When she was at my GF's dad's place she would stop eating as well even if there was still food.
Give it 2-3 months. Assuming he is actually a he, (hard to be unsure since you can sex a Veiled from birth) you'll start to see colors soon. How often is he shedding?
Okay, just got home so here are some more pictures. She has pretty much been dark since I got in and only when I put my hand in her tank does she go a lighter green, even tho I can tell she is a bit agitated with me. I think she is still a bit dehydrated but it's been at least 60% humidity all...
Will get pictures up in about 3 hours. On a side note, does anyone know the average eyesight of a Cham? Like how far they can see, stuff along those lines. I ask because I am sure that my Cham can watch me when I lay in bed and watch tv or play computer 8-10 feet away.
