Hey all, recently I started using vermiculite as a bedding in an igloo cooler I use to keep crickets. The crickets seem as if they are dying quicker since i've been using vermiculite. Any suggestions?
I found a reddish worm in my enclosure today, relatively close to a poop. It had aggressive movements. Any idea if its parasitic? It was about an inch long and skinny.
Thanks!
Ash
They seem to be at the bottom of the enclosure, in the drainage tray, and on some decoration in my enclosure.... Are they springtails?, Any way to get rid of them? Very tiny.
Thanks,
Ash
Well it's been a little difficult navigating the fall temperature changes in SoCal where one week its 95 degrees, next is 68 degrees with mornings getting in the low 50's. I have adjusted the light to come on earlier, and keeping the morning ambient temperature up a bit. The temperature...
So in the last few months i've noticed infrequent urate and poop, but then a giant one like once or twice a month.... I've been letting the enclosure get into the 50's at night/early am (bottom of cage), wondering if maybe its getting too cool? I've researched a bit to find that being cold...
I have a whole new setup going from a hybrid enclosure to open mesh, i'm in California so its been a challenge to get some decent humidity. Comes in handy if you're out of town to be able to tell if theres a problem at home with the enclosure.
I can't keep medium/large crickets alive in a critter keeper, I used an old igloo cooler with the top off at room temperature, much bigger, and i've had way better success, I try to replace the egg crate semi often
The wifi is a game changer, I check it from anywhere, plus it creates a report of humidity averaged out through the night and shows the peaks etc....good to check how the fogger affects with the mist....
Hi All,
Not sure how many of you have the Govee temp/hygrometer, they seem to be pretty amazing, however when i'm checking these temps vs. an infrared temp gun, like from home depot... the temp gun is reading about 5-10 degrees warmer. Any opinions on which would be more accurate?
Hi Guys,
My Veiled seems to find his reflection on any surface, he's attacked Govee temperature monitors, and now is finding himself in my Arcadia reflector, anyone else experience this?
He climbs and goes to great lengths to get to it. I've tried it everywhere, might have to raise it up off...
