Kara is an excellent person to work with. She always goes the extra 110% for her clients, and as a fellow feeder vendor, I can honestly say she produces a great quality of insect with great service to go with it :-)
Yea, I've seen volume counting before, but that can vary quickly with the size of the cricket. Normally what I do for any bugs we sell out of Small Pet Feeders, we weigh out 10 or so, multiply that number by 10 and then we have a good roundabout for 100. Not so easy to do so with Pinheads...
Alright, this is a funny one, the bug guy has a question about bugs. How do you count Pinhead crickets? I usually do all my bug counts by weight, but I'm learning fast that Pinhead crickets have no distinguishable weight...lol

LMAO that's great.
Yes, the black crickets are aggressive, but then again I don't care how aggressive an insect is, if you put only one or two in an isolated container, enough to keep the insects at bay while your cham locks on, there's very little danger.
The danger comes from allowing...
Although I'm not sure what damage Dubia would inflict on Florida's ecosystems, but I do know it would flourish in that giant pressure cooker of a state. (hot and humid)

Big DOH for this guy.
Why would you alter such an obviously fake permit? This guy's problem was he tried to falsify his "permit", pass it off to a seller to trick the guy into committing a felony along with him, and then expect the seller not to follow up on such a ridiculous case.
Almost...
And the scriptures read: A Great White Cricket shall lead all crickets to freedom from persecution, wheat bran diets, and consumption by the evil Scale-Bags. It is said this Great White Cricket only appears once in a blue sky, so stay vigilant, as even your crickets may find their Messiah to...
I like to use 20 gallon Rubbermaids lined with packaging tape, a thin layer of vasoline, and some baby oil. Cut a 10"x5" hole in each long side of the container (2 total), and screen them out with some ALUMINUM screen (not fiberglass, as crickets will chew through this). Do the same to the lid...
I personally don't recommend using fish tanks as insect keepers, especially insects that create significant waste, as you always run the risk of shattering your 10 gallon aquarium when you clean them, which should be about weekly for crickets, more if you get sub-quality crickets from a virus...
This is some great advice. Is $50 per night really that common? Or is this a common "exotic" rate?
Do you think I would still need the insurance if I kept the animals at the owner's home?
Thanks you for your input :-)
Well Atlanta is a very diverse area, and I've been building a...
Hi guys,
So Amy and I are contemplating starting a small reptile sitting service for the local Atlanta, GA area, and I wanted to ask my friends here first what kind of complications, issues, or obstacles that are going to incur with such a venture.
I'd appreciate all type of advice, from...
Yea, I was going to go ahead and start them on Reptaid. One pooped in the cup on the way home. Very orange to white gradient urate (most likely dehydration, as I've bought animals from the guy before and he does a crap job of keeping his screened cages misted), and the poop looks pretty...
I keep veiled and panther chameleons usually, but decided to get a mating pair of Senegals at Repticon.
Anything I need to know about their cage? Can I keep the pair in the same cage?
1) Silkworms are ready to cocoon when the vein starts pulsing, and will start cocooning when they find a suitable place.
2) When they're ready to spin, using a checkered cardboard insert that looks like a tic-tac-toe board works good. What you're trying to do is give the silkworm a little cubby...
Oh yea man, we do the same thing. Most of the stuff we feed our roaches and crickets we get from local farmers and Kroger shopping centers in the form of discards. Free food is always great.
I've heard of some reptiles refusing them, but the cool thing about having a Dubia colony is you get guys like me who will take Dubia the same as cash. I regularly do trade ins for different roaches and other insects with my clients, so even if your dubia colony is being eaten by your reptiles...
