Don't feel bad! There's a ridiculous amount of misinformation. I was subject to it as well only a few short months ago. This forum has helped me tremendously.
Just like camimom said, check out sandrachameleon's blog on gutloading. She has loads of great information: Link

I gave this advice to Kate, when she asked about keeping silkworms:
Mulberry chow is the only thing they eat. If you want to fatten them up feed them every day, if just keeping them alive every other day is fine.
Silkworms are very susceptible to bacteria. It's important to wash your hands...

Lol Sandra, your username comes up so quickly in my...
Many, many congratulations, kevoh! Give your lil girl a few calcium dusted bugs for me :). Are they fertile?
Although I've not personally been in this position I think you should read JannB's blog: link
That's what I had assumed as well.
Feeding: I'd try to give him some variety in his diet. Crickets, silkworms, hornworms, maybe try some dubia cockroaches. Silkworms and hornworms are very nutritious and great for hydrating your chameleon.
I see you are gutloading with flukers. Personally...
