Well moments ago I finally experienced my first bite from a chameleon, I've been working with a 2 year old veiled who has his mind set on his ways haha and today as I was getting him out of his cage to go outside for some sun he lunged at me!
So I just held still he latched on which wasn't so bad then he ground his jaw and that's when his teeth sunk in and that hurt!
I just kept still and he let go then walked out onto my hand and up my arm like well I guess if that won't get ya I guess I'll be your friend so here's a pic of my first bite haha

That sucks and that is exactly why I didn't get a veiled because a lot of them I've seen have this same attitude. Now I can answer my friends question asking me if it hurts to get bit by a cham lmfao!

Yeah it really wasn't to bad until he decided to chop and grind down but I've approached him 3 times now and he hasn't flared or hissed again and each time I've been able to go straight in and scratch his chin, so maybe now he'll chill out some knowing that I was phased by his little fit! Haha

And NOW y'all know why I busted out the golf glove yesterday in getting Chazam out! :D

I hope you heal up properly! It looks serious! ;)

I've was bit by one of my panther males one time, hurt a little didn't break the skin though. The worst though was when my youngest son was provided an insect to hand feed one of my chams. The chameleon shoots out his tongue misses the insect, hits the tip of my sons finger. The chameleon can't retract his tongue, calmly proceeds to walk up to my sons finger gently bites down(I presume, there was no screaming) releases his tongue and walks away like its nobodys buisness. The get to know you,how do you do didn't go as )planned.

Cute story! :)

Congratulations.

I admit, I was sort of proud when I finally got bit a month ago. Mine are little, so there was no breaking of the skin. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the little beak mark on my finger though, it was cool.

Haha I remember when I got bit by my Cham. I was hand feeding him and I had the dubia roach in my hand. I looked away because my niece fell on the ground behind me. I still had the roach in my hand, and my hand was still in the cage. Well my Cham decides it would be better to bite me instead of the roach. So I turn back, and see him tilt his head at an angle so he can avoid the roach and get me. As he is doing this, I had no idea that he was getting a better angle to bite me. I assumed he was just being weird. The next thing I know. He lunges at me and bites the f*** out of my finger tip. It didn't bleed but it was all purple and swollen. It felt like somebody slammed a car door on my finger. Never again will I leave my finger and turn my back to him.
