As we all know feeders cost, also take a lot of work now that many of us are getting into warmer weather what do people do to perhaps offer more variety or supplemental feeding options?
I was thinking of collecting native pill bugs/wood lice/ isopods..
Collecting or setting up a FF culture...
Still up for adoption.. we have had a few people ask, but like the Chams for sale, once you start listing some needs, people change their minds :( or have second thoughts :( We don't have a fast turn around on chams BTW.. at least at our store.. I know chains are not loved, but we talk...
its a zoo med 12 X 12 X 18.. so I knew starting out it may be a tad small for three.. so was getting ready to separate the male out to a separate enclosure.. but as I had a few plants die, and was not really happy how the initial set up was working with animals in the enclosure, decided to...
I know there is a bunch of factors, but how quick of a response do you see to improved husbandry, or CA supplementation in the Adult MBD issues related to neurological/muscle symptoms.. Tounge, grabbing legs, wobbly gait??
If you could ask this in the health section..
Also please make sure you fill out the husbandry form.. the how to ask for help sticky :)
Its important to know what your husbandry and current supplements, heat lighting etc in order to make any recommendations..
Hello.. I like to put the word out the Salem NH petsmart has a good sized adult WC Male Jackson up for adoption..
I take the handsome fella myself, Yes I work there.. but do not have the resources or space, to add another cham of a different species I currently have.. sigh..
He does...
as for heat.. well CAUTION needs to be used.. Normal comfortable temps in home even in the dead of winter for most people, plus a light that has a ballast that produces heat.. enclosed glass tank.. I be hard pressed to say it is needed for MOST homes.. why it was questioned..
to easy to...
planted tank with substrate, biological ecosystem is essential to control harmful waste, and do some clean up..
As a species.. cleaning and changing substrate weekly - needed if using substrate alone, stresses them..
So.. even if you ONLY use plastic fake silk.. or a combo.. but want a...
I started with a enclosure, set It up, was doing well, but then added the trio, and lost a few plants :( no sign of isopod acivity sadly, but TONS of springtails :)
Anyhow also noted the girls seemed really happy but he male was spending a bit of time at the top of the cage.. perhaps just...
just curious off the top.. did you provide a Laying bin on the females??
The male, heck was a concern before...the cat situation is a curve ball.. but as all females dead at the bottom of a cage.. Laying bin comes to mind!
without knowing what conditions you provide a shot in the dark guess why..
Assuming the first ones where at least "healthy" at first.. then what happened in your care may matter.. or if all ok, may have not been a factor..
As for the one smaller skinny.. well the guess.. just out...
use carefully placed mister heads,, plants.. and a simple sterlite container with a hole in the cover and screen to keep the cham ou
t and the insects.. here :) waste water also waters plants around the cage.. and some into a bin that I use for other plants in the home.. the other points...
best option.. using t5 More energy efficient.. 5.0 or perhaps 10 depending on distance.. but a DUAL fixture.. is better, so one can add a 6500 plant bulb too..
the bulb issues have not been a problem of late.. but a linear offers more area of coverage.. compacts may be fine, but really...
not discounting your knowledge.. but heck as "water conservation" is a biggie with me, I skip all the details and use my chams cage, drain water to water house plants in the winter, and gardens in the summer :) Just NOT veggies.. in case.. I use a drip system, so can hold a lot of water...
I think and I could be wrong he is asking do people who breed have offspring offer them up for sale or not? Hope I am getting this correct? yes... however..
Some sell some keep, some place, or trade.. as there is not a huge amount of babies being bred and hatched right now.. most...
oh I am not, do I have plans? perhaps but I have male female intact animals in my care so looking at all factors that can cause stress.. but my worry is I am NOT in a hurry and letting a new WC male, stress himself for NO purpose.. seems a real stupid thing.. I dont want eggs yet,, I want...
Play nice people :)
I don't get bored.. however, do understand on a forum like this it seems a odd question..
However it IS a good question.. but I have to ask you how do you define bored? what are you looking for in a pet reptile, your expectations... your wishes? before any...
