ok well all is done
My female ended up dropping around 12-15 eggs and then also laid another 10-12. I didn't even count them lol i just rushed to put them in the vermiculite before they dried out. But i did separate the dropped eggs from the laid eggs. and i dated them. I only hope the laid...
thanks everyone
This is so stressful for both me and my female lol. she is still dropping them in the sand below her branches. she did however come down once to start digging a hole but never finished. or placing any eggs in there she did however lay them on top of the sand above ground. I am...
can you tell if they are fertile?
is there a way to determine if they are fertile or is it a game of chance? what will happen if they are not fertile or alive?
great video
really understand the process much better now, my only concern is the fact that my female after a fall is now dropping her eggs from the top of her branch. I am gathering the two she dropped so far and putting them in my hatching medium in hopes they hatch, but im watching closely...
My female cham is gravid and i took her to the vet today for a checkup, and make sure she was gravid. Well while she was climbing up my arm, she jumped off and tumbled to the floor and 10 minutes later dropped an egg on her carry box floor and then another one after i put her in her cage. Did...
ok here is the idea now
First yes I do have play sand for laying the eggs and its been around 3 weeks so i have it in the cage now. (she went down to look at the container this morning) and i have vermiculite coming in the mail for incubating them, I was going to just put the eggs, once layed...
very cool.
well it says it is enriched with miracle grow, so i guess that wont work huh?ok i will look for vermicilite now. So just keep them between 70-75 and thats it huh? No light or anything? Im going to the vet tuesday to give her a good check up. What about calcium drops that someone...
ok im going to the vet tuesday to make sure my female is gravid and i am ready for her to lay if she is. A 3 gallon plastic bin with 10 inches of play sand in it should do the trick. Now once she lays what should i do next? I have books but i would rather get step by step instructions from...
ok got it.
the container is 12 inches deep and i ended up buying playsand, I could only find perlite as walmart does not have vermicilite. Will that do? I could mix it with a little sphagnum peat to help keep it more moist, as i thin k that was an issue i saw on one of these forums. Once the...
calcium drops?
Where can i get calcium drops and do i have to force feed her them? mine is not used to being handled too much, but may open or gape at me if i do handle her, making it easy to place drops in. I hope lol. I do feed her calcium daily in her cricks and worms.
Ok so i will have...
ok so play sand and possibly potting soil combined for laying.
Now what do i use for a container for her to lay? a pot? I have nothing sgaure or deep enough, other that a pot for planting. and whats to keep her from using her plants? do i take them out altogether? when and if she does lay, do...
Ok so i may have bred my chams too soon, but what is done is done, and now i have to prepare for her being gravid. I need to know what is the better soil to use for her to lay her eggs in and what kind of container as im afraid she may lay in her potted plant. I see a lot of people using...
Now what!
ok so my female may be gravid and if she is even though she's young, i want to prepare for it. Im seeing everyone uses some kind of vermicilite or perlite for laying, is that what i should use for her to lay eggs in and what do i use for a container. I have plants in there and im...
took both to the vet
Both chameleons appear in good health, weight is 6 oz on the male and 6.5 on the female. The vet says in nature, it is common for the female to breed at a young age. and that if she allows the male to mount her then she is ready for laying eggs. but that on occasion the...
unsure of weight
I knew there was something i didn't have and that was a scale. all i know is they are growing fast and both are fat as you can see in the pictures. I will take them to the vet for a check up asap as now i'm a little concerned since she's too young and the tongue thing and just...
MY female and male have been almost anxious to get together the last few times i introduced them, today I allowed the male to enter her cage to see what would happen and the female was very receptive, she even took a few steps towrds him as if to greet him. All nice pink coloration. So i turned...
oops
I meant to say 30 seconds. But as it stands right now i have the mister on for 3 minutes 3x's daily and 1 minute 2 times in between so it basically goes off ever 2 hours and the plants seem to be handling all the moisture and they are beginning to look healthy rather than drowned again...
LOL he is
The male is pretty much fired up. LOL I have never seen him with much more coloration so i think thats about it. I could put him in front of the mirror or in next to the female to see if hes any colorful, and take his pic, but i hate to do that to him, i may try it though to see if he...
