Make sure that his UVB bulb runs across somewhere he sits often or that he can gain access to, so that you know he's getting what he needs. I put mine diagonally so that anywhere they are they are sitting under it.
is he brownish when he's sitting under his light? They go a darker color when they bask because they need to absorb more light to get more heat. and if it is stress it could just be the stress of being new to the situation.
Pretty typically you want to give him a few weeks to a month to settle in. Let him get used to you. only go in the cage to feed water and clean, I wouldn't try to handle him. If he is getting territorial when you walk by then he is probably an extra grumpy one, but if he is just getting pissy...
lol even the pill bugs are scary http://dsiegel.smugmug.com/Travel/Africa-2007/Madagascar/IMG5668/210464169_Xwj56-L.jpg
we have honey bees from the local colonies that fly into town and we have bumble bees the size of pterodactyls haven't caught them yet though.
This is going to sound super nasty but the first thing I think of is whenever my cats would accidentally eat hair. It'll prolly come out whole and you may have to help get it out.
lol no problem :) This is my first time doing this. So I have no idea. My personal opinion on wasps is I'm too damn scared to catch them and deal with them because their ferocious and I'm a weenie. :D and that ties into the stingers in tact thing, I'm a super protective cham owner and I barely...
I got a bug net and a little kid bug keeper from walmart. though the keeper isn't necessary you can use a ziplock bag. I also got some rubber gloves (the washing dishes kind) just in case. Then I went out and caught them, put them in the fridge until they fall asleep, or in the freezer to speed...
Though it's a lot of work to catch and de-stingerfy the bees. I approve of them as a treat for my chams. Today I caught some and Uhura is going nuts. Just thought I'd share.
I definitely don't get the feeling that she is scamming, I just get the impression that she wants to get rid of her cham but she doesn't want to take the time to do it.
She didn't tell me about his health or what comes with the setup so I asked her again. When I get my reply I'll ask for more pics. I can't afford a needy cham.
Got a reply from the seller, she wants 100 for the setup. She says he's a typical cham that isnt mean but tolerates us. she wont let me come see him unless I'm buying. That bothers me.
Yea it's not the biting. I can't deal with one of those chams that hisses at you and lunges if you even walk by, the super territorial extra mean ones. the cham attitude is expected.
I'm not afraid of that, I already have one that regardless of if she's pissed or not she would like a part of my hand in her mouth for safe measure. But other than that she's super sweet.
My first impression is that he looks well taken care of. He looks to be well fed and supplemented. :) and hes got good colors on him. :) If the owner emails me back and his health record checks out then I may go for it. :) and if he's not a total meanie. Last thing I need is another cham to...
