Eating hair

Hello -

I have a question which isn't so much health related, but it could be harmful. Tonight my chameleon caught a cricket, and as she was eating it, I noticed that she was also chewing a piece of my hair. I was going to try to pull it out but she is quicker than I am. I'm assuming she swallowed it because she isn't chewing anymore. My hair is over 12 inches long. Will this harm her because it is so long? How will it digest, and how will it come out?

This is going to sound super nasty but the first thing I think of is whenever my cats would accidentally eat hair. It'll prolly come out whole and you may have to help get it out.

Do not ever try to pull a hair out when a chameleon swallows it. It can hurt the chameleon's innards. Hopefully it will go through the chameleon by itself. Watch for signs of problems for a while until you are sure it has passed through the chameleon.
